Tl;DR: Znaps is successfully being sold by other companies under license before any single Kickstarter backer gets their orders fulfilled.
In a shocking turn of events, Znaps posted a response to all Kickstarter backers last month, stating that any news articles they read about "Znaps" being a scam was not correct. One of the items they offered as proof was their licensing deal with other companies, in which their manufacturing process and technology was being used to make products under different labels.
This infuriated some backers since they now understood why their shipments were late: Rather than focusing on manufacturing and shipping processes, Znaps was being sold under license to competitors. Perhaps the plan was for the company to fulfill their Kickstarter backers' orders once the other company started manufacturing production en masse. Or perhaps the owners used the money they raised from Znaps to increase valuation, market interest, and then sell their property without fulfilling their obligation to Kickstarter backers.
However, I now present to you some proof that this scam is either expanding, or they were telling the truth about selling their license/IP to other sellers.
KWIK from China/Hong Kong is now making Znaps adapters and selling them directly on eBay.

It's still a waiting game to see whether Znaps turns out to be a crowd-sourced scam. Perhaps they'll conveniently "sell" the rights to a shell corporation that will reap the rewards for their licensing, declare bankruptcy for their main company, and not be held responsible for the money they charged Kickstarter backers through their initial incorporation (backers were told to place orders through a different site outside of Kickstarter once the campaign ended).
