I took off from work early and drove 2 hours to a nearby music festival to see 2 of my favorite bands.

I got there with hours to spare before showtime, saw some other acts, and then went to the stage where my bands would be playing wayyyyy early and found a spot about 10ft behind the front row railing, 15ft from the stage. It was halfway through some not-very-good other band's set who but it was going to be a great spot for one of my favorite bands that would be playing in 4 hours.

Those of you that go to concerts and festivals have seen the "push" towards the front that happens as it gets closer to the main event. I can deal, I'm a big guy and I'm tall so most people don't block my view and most people don't try to jockey against me for a spot.

It amazes me the entitlement of women at these events. I get tapped on the shoulder, told to move, my head gets poked, ears flicked, insulted, yelled at, all this shit by women who are trying to fruitlessly push past me to get up front or in front of me. Any man trying to Do the same thing would find themselves very forcefully pulled back by the crowd (happened to 2 guys trying the same thing during the headliner). You can't push women or be rough to hold them back though, you can only cross your arms and become a brick wall, brace yourself and refuse to move or even acknowledge them trying. Doesn't stop them from being rude as fuck and trying. Like I said, I'm a built guy so I'm not typically fucked with but sometimes preventing these festival-whores from cutting everyone makes them think they have free reign to shove, hit, or have one of their beta dudebro orbiters try to muscle through for them or start a fight. I had one bitch burn a hole in my shirt with a cigarette once. Had another go around the person next to me on her beta's shoulders right in front of them. Poor sap learned that lesson hard. Why do you even need to be on shoulders when you are in the second row??

My favorite excuse is:

"My friends are up there".

"Cool, better text them where to meet you after the show is over."

Another common tactic is to act flirty and start to dance on men so that they will put the girl in front of them, then the girl repeats that again and again, til she is up front. Not me, I just shake my head and go back to jamming out. Best to just ignore them in the first place though, the rejection can make them get very angry and violent.

Bitch, I have been standing here in the same fucking spot for what will be a total of 6 hours. I drove 2 to see this band. I haven't pissed, haven't had a drink, haven't eaten, been able to move and my back is 11/10 killing me. FUCK YOU thinking that just because your 5'2 I'm gonna let you push your way in front of me. Enjoy the view of my 6'4 ass all night and NEXT TIME come early like the rest of us for the good spots.

Moon Taxi and Glass Animals were amazing btw and the view was great :)
