Dear Libertarian who didn't think about this for very long,

Without the Global Positioning System that consists of more than 30 satellites at a launch cost of 110 million -240 million each which was paid for with tax dollars and put into space by the govt. Pokemon Go would not work.

Libertarians mean well, they just have not taken 5 minutes to think about what they are saying.

He's not arguing against governments, but rather, for the Free Market.

Also he's more commenting on the irony that Nintendo's game has been more effective in a week than Michelle Obama- arguably one of the most powerful people in the world- could accomplish in over half a decade.

The Global Positioning System was developed as a military project for accurate missile guidance (among other uses). Defense is one area in which libertarians certainly support public spending. It was also achieved through private contractors, so really, you can be happy about it either way, unless you're a Quaker.

If the government hadn't put them up there some corporation or collective would've done it. Those satellites could probably have made back that initial investment a hundred times over by now.
