There's two easy ways to get the retarded masses to vote. One, rile up hate. Two, promise free shit. It's easy to see how that lands.
I respect real fiscal conservatism and libertarianism as legit political ideals. I think some of it is pie in the sky idealism that doesn't work in the real world, but with those people I can sometimes have a conversation that doesn't degrade into hating on the poors or saying lets bomb everyone.
I tend to vote Democrat because they support the most social freedoms without also wanting to gut social programs, but I don't like how they run things, either. They're just a bit better than Republicans on actual governance IMO.
