Don't worry, the next one won't have a time limit restriction - that's why this is a beta tournament after all. Was all about finding out what works best for everyone etc.

I think what would work better is not requiring immediacy/presence from 200 people simultaneously. It's a big commitment to give up a few hours of a day and obviously not everyone will be able to do that, so if we make it say a week long (estimate) tournament with no time restrictions then everyone should be able to get their games in in their own time. How does that sound?

You're being downvoted but it's actually true. To progress in modern football is not only to build a team, but to get better quickly. This is done by attracting players. Who would have wanted to join City, or even Chelsea, 20 years ago? I'm all for money in football, as long as we're at the top spending the most (which is all within our means and nobody can ever call us a sugar daddy club) and getting the best players, who cares?
