[Pre-Match Thread] /R/Reddevils FIFA Tournament - Find your game! (self.reddevils)

Hello and welcome to the /r/reddevils FIFA Tounament for July. We kick off at 8pm BST and there are currently over 160 people registered across all competitions.

The winner of each tournament will win reddit gold. You can sign up here (password is united)

Registration will be closed and seeding will be complete 7PM GMT - this is when you will be able to find out who you are playing for definite.

You can look at who you are to play in principle now by clicking on the links below but this is subject to change by 7pm as more people sign up and re-seeding occurs. Probably best to check back here at 7:30pm once registration has closed.

Note: Gamertags are used on battlefy, not reddit username. Don't message your match on reddit.

Seeding has so far been based on your registration number. All seeding means is that someone with a lower number is more likely to play someone with a higher number.

Some people on PS4 and Xbox at current do get to skip a round due to the number of registrants (because a tournament of 100 would not work due to half being eliminated every round), so congrats on registering early. But it also means your first game will be more difficult!

Official kick off will be 8pm BST tonight as we have stated previously. Checking in begins at 7pm. Good luck to all!

I think after the initial checking in they can be played whenever. At 5:30 im going to make a match thread where people can find eachother by gamertag

Gah Suck's so hard, If it was a few hours earlier I could have played on the xbox at work, or if it was couple hours later I could play when I got home! But it starts the same time I get off work :(

Hopefully the next one is not to far away! Im back to my normal Monday-Friday shifts after tomorrow!

Also - I wouldn't mind having a 50p tournament - The amount of people that have signed up for xbox - that's still a decent prize, if you do 1st 2nd 3rd prize money. Just a thought.

Don't worry, the next one won't have a time limit restriction - that's why this is a beta tournament after all. Was all about finding out what works best for everyone etc.

I think what would work better is not requiring immediacy/presence from 200 people simultaneously. It's a big commitment to give up a few hours of a day and obviously not everyone will be able to do that, so if we make it say a week long (estimate) tournament with no time restrictions then everyone should be able to get their games in in their own time. How does that sound?

The only issue with this is, people will be waiting around for long time to play people. Unless you do - Round 1 - Days 1&2 Round 2 - Days 3&4 etc That way people have 48 hours to get their games in.

I'm not sure if we can via the website but we can impose that as a rule and give someone a final 3 hours warning to play their game or get banned

You can still get everyone to check in at 7pm or w/e.

You have the players decide when they will play their game in the 2 day window. Who ever is a no show at the end of the 2 day period will get DQ and the other guy goes through.

If that makes sense lol

Yeah ofc. Just have the players report in to the mod when they are ready to play and if there are any no shows
