That's a very nice attempt mods! Bravo

Randia without rules? BRB...

Good job mods. Have a feeling it might just become a better sub to have good debates.

If this is a plot to finally get trolls to stop posting in r/India it's pretty genius.

How is this genius? Having no moderation isn't good and everybody knows and agrees. But here, it's too much moderation that the users complain about.

If this move is made to justify their over moderation here, then it doesn't even make sense. "Let's prove that too many rules here is justified by giving an example of a sub with no moderating at all"??? WTF!

And looking at some comments it looks like that's what they're trying to do.

You can do as you please. But if this sub turns into a troll infested shit fest then it only justifies the rules on /r/india.

Dude, even we don't know what the future of that sub is.

We aren't breaking into a sweat or rage about it - I don't think you should either.

It's wait and watch territory, lets see what happens.

Then tell some people not to make statements like " .... it justifies the rules of r/india"

lol wut?

Tell your fellow mods to not make statements like the one I've quoted.

Lemme quote again -

You can do as you please. But if this sub turns into a troll infested shit fest then it only justifies the rules on /r/india.

Right, your point is so clear and related.

I didn't want to take names but here it is - https://np.reddit.com/r/indiaunplugged/comments/3ehess/why_cant_we_plug_this_sub_with_more_hate_posts/cteyn0g

If I'm right, the user is a mod in this sub nah? So pardon me if I think, that's the reason you guys made this move.

? So pardon me if I th

...

In 2 comments, I know there is nothing I can say which will convince you, because you are

1) context insensitive

2) have already made up your mind on the mods

So why bother right?

If I am going to argue with someone who only wants to poke holes in my statements, I may as well study law and do it in court. At least I'll get paid.

Chill man I said "maybe", "if this move is made to justify...". "IF".

Since you say "you don't know the future of the sub" & "we aren't breaking into a sweat or rage about it", I said "some users (who happen to be a mod) made a statement that I mentioned. Hence, that's what I thought was all the mod's idea. Then you didn't understand what I said & replied "lol, wut". I repeated, you said "Right, your point is so clear and related." WTF, dude. Anyway, that's the recap.

And now you say "there's nothing I say that'll convince you..". If you would have said something like "that's not a official mod comment, just a user opinion", it would have been more than enough. Instead you type some comments, thinking I'm being passive aggressive, "I have made up my minds on the mods" etc. and hence making me type such a long comment at 2:40 am in the morning. sigh This could have ended 3-4 conversations before. Feeling sleepy now. bye.

Why are you getting so pissed off brother? There is a lot of miscommunication/misinterpretation about this experiment.

/u/i_am_not_sam had individually started /r/IndiaUnplugged a week back without any big bang annoucement nor any support from other /r/India mods till that time since he was working on the logisitics, as far as I understand. I had read the mod annoucement which was made a week back which clearly mentioned that, now sam has edited it.

What has happened is since moderators have made this official mod post about it, to redirect some of the /r/India's traffic to reach some critical mass to let this actual experiment work to its fullest.

If this experiment was done in isolation, it wouldn't had received much backslash, but now since all removed posts would be directed there, also /r/bakchodi is redirecting itself there with a modpost & a dummy sub & also the right wing sub has its eyes on it, everyone has got an space release their orgasms at one go with some active audience. This is just a start, after a longtime this 'TriDev' are at one meeting point. Expect lot of shitfest.

Lets give it a honest try, these guys atleast are trying something. Can you even imagine the level of accountability & scrutiny which will be brought when the mod logs are public?

@/u/parlor_tricks: I was seriously was going to suggest to you guys repost 3 years old threads like these with much more slangfest, this will give the naive subscribers something to crunch on, when they complain about deleted comments.

Thanks mate.

more like The Wire's hamsterdam amirite folks

I think it's a great initiative! Hope to see a lot of participation on that sub

add this sub on the sidebar as a big button otherwise people will miss it

On our end, we will direct all removed posts to /r/IndiaUnplugged to provide a more open forum for participation. Once (if) we achieve a critical mass, and the sub can run without a certain rule, we'll make an earnest effort to remove that rule from /r/india.

I have an issue with this: I am not invested in either an unmoderated or moderated sub, but to give the other sub a fair chance, you should probably redirect every post from r/India, and not just what we consider scum here( i.e. removed posts).

What will happen now is a large majority of posts on IndiaUnplugged will be redirect spam , which would be what many consider worthless. It's like the Americans sending that toxic ship to India for disposal...

Good idea. Kudos.

Why do you need new mods on that sub? /u/r_india_mod

We're particularly interested in seeing how a sub with a large, politically motivated subscriber base can do without the strict title and the relevance rule.

This presumes the new sub will have a "large, politically motivated subscriber base". Doubt when that will happen, if ever. Better way to experiment would have been to suspend all moderation (except for doxxing and commercial spam) on /r/India for a couple of days or a weekend, and see what happens. I am afraid the new sub will simply not have enough participation to derive reliable experiment results.

we will direct all removed posts to /r/IndiaUnplugged to provide a more open forum for participation.

Does "all" mean really, truly all? Or, are there unstated caveats to this?

for a couple of days or a weekend, and see what happens

Addressed in the OP.

Does "all" mean really, truly all?

Yes.

Subscribed. Thanks for the good efforts and taking the community's views into consideration!

hmm..interesting play here. Nice and fair attempt anyways. Well done.

[–]Tauji 2

It's good to see you guys try :) much appreciated.

Brilliant!

Oye, go volunteer.

You can sticky more than one post?

Not a fanatic, but rules are good. IMHO it might not work out to the best of your expectations.

You guys have a tough job!

Sadly not many here appreciate that.

No rules is against awar kulcha.

Saar, as Desi I am very more unhappy without a sahib 2 tell me wat 2 do. How I will no how 2 cheat rules if there r no rules. Pliss, I am very more confused.

hope the sub gets participation.

Could we have a anything-goes weekly thread? Sort of like Zero Fucks Friday over on /r/SquaredCircle.

Yes! there are other Indians on /r/squaredcircle

Self posts of any topic (within reason - nothing illegal, harassing yada yada yada) are allowed. We already have a few redditors doing posts for photos, books and writing. And RDD runs 3 times a day and that's pretty much an "anything goes" thread.

Nice but no rules? I sincerely hope it won't be spammed by ads or porn XD

[–]not_bakchodest_of_al -1ポイント0ポイント  (3子コメント)

How is that unplugged different from bakchodi?

/r/bakchodi is a circlejerk sub. /r/indiaunplugged is meant for all material that would go on /r/india

[–]not_bakchodest_of_al 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

How is rindia not a circle jerk? It's a bigger circle jerk than any circle jerk sub than other sub. Bakchodi is not even a circle jerk, it's a place where sometime butthurt people assemble, sometime better humor is posted and sometimes porn. Rindia is a circle jerk for AAP supporters and BJP supporters and pseudo intellectuals.

Agreed.

Seriously I won't be leaving r/India to go to some other sub. Its not worth the effort.
