Did that ship clip straight through the asteroid at 0:13 seconds?

They probably had God mode turned on when they were making the trailer, lol :)

This seems the most likely answer, they "bounce" slightly by the look of the camera giggle.

Agreed. At first glance the implication is that the game is buggy, but I find it far more likely that they had God Mode on, and didn't notice the clipping when they were doing the final edit

Definitely noticed that too..

I re-watched that part a few times. How could they let that slip? Watched in slow-mo too, just to be sure.

It sure did clip.

Maybe it's a procedurally generated asteroid made out of solid-looking asteroid-gas

e: My actual guess is that they didn't bother with colliding with small objects when the spaceship is in "warp" mode or whatever they're calling it. It generates asteroids in front of the spaceship so you have to dodge them but when you're warping around a star system it's not going to bother with steering or trying to calculate collisions (when you could be moving over larger distances than a small object occupies every frame) or whatever.

At least, this is how I've seen it work on every other large scale spaceship game (mostly back in the early 2000s though)

They've probably seen it happen so often that it didn't stand out as strange to them, like it does to us.

Sounds like a mediocre developing team if they didn't notice that.
