The lawsuit king regularly threatens to sue Ted Cruz for not being a citizen. The word “lawsuit” rolls easily off of his tongue, but “settled” is a bad word to him. Actually, Trump has been listed as plaintiff (suing) or defendant (sued) in at least 169 different federal lawsuits.
Trump says he never settles, because when a person settles, everyone will want to sue you, but it looks as if he does settle. There is one lawsuit that leaps off the page. This one was for $125 million and filed by Jill Harth (formerly Jill Harth Houraney) in 1997. The woman was in her early 30’s and claimed that Trump “engaged in hostile and offensive sexual behavior” toward her.
These “sexually abusive” acts allegedly occurred over a five-year period, from 1992 to 1997. The 12-page long complaint is full of like allegations against Trump.
Harth was a pageant producer, who organized international model search events in the early 1990’s. She met Trump because he was active in beauty pageantry. She lived in Boca Raton, Fla.
According to the suit, the following incident occurred at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago Palm Beach, Fla. estate:
‘After Trump business associates left, the defendant (Trump) over the plaintiff’s objections forcibly prevented plaintiff from leaving and forcibly removed plaintiff to a bedroom, whereupon defendant (Trump) subjected plaintiff to defendant’s unwanted sexual advances, which included touching of plaintiff’s private parts in an act constituting attempted “rape.’’’
Harth claimed that Trump called her numerous times at her home, demanding she “sleep with him.” On January 9, 1993:
‘Trump forcefully removed (Harth) from public areas of Mar-A-Lago in Florida and forced (her) into a bedroom belonging to defendant’s daughter Ivanka, wherein (Trump) forcibly kissed, fondled, and restrained (her) from leaving, against (her) will and despite her protests.’
Harth made a number of additional claims against Trump. Yet, Trump vehemently denied the charges at the time, saying the suit “was a desperate attempt to get me to settle a case they can’t win.”
Less than a month after it was filed, Harth withdrew it. According to the court record, the status was “voluntarily dismissed” and “without prejudice.”
Trump reportedly agreed to settle a separate lawsuit Harth’s husband, George Houraney’s company, The American Dream Enterprise, brought against him. The company filed a “breach of contract lawsuit in 1995.”
The court ordered the affidavits from Houraney and Jill Harth sealed as of September 1996.
Michael Cohen, special council to Trump said:
So, were the sexual harassment allegations true? According to LawNewzcom, Harth said:
‘The allegations were twisted and embellished. Everything could be looked at in different way.’
Harth, said she would even vote for Trump now as an act of “supporting a friend:”
‘I saw him [Donald] recently, and he said I looked good. I have nothing but good things to say about Donald.’
In the court document, she said that Trump bragged that he “would be the best lover you ever have.”
Of course, he did.
