Ash is actually just short for Satoshi. They call him "Ash" in Japan as well for a nickname. In the western release they just scrapped the full name alltogether.

Yes and the tulip trust twitter account, allegedly controlled by some chick in some fucked up love triangle between wright and kleinman (but possibly rather being an account controlled by wright), claimed it came from some obscure book.

This was one of the aspects of their story that refuted themselves.

No, it didn't. The claim that 'Satoshi Nakamoto' was a combination of Satoshi and Tominaga Nakamoto, came from Wright himself in the LRB profile.
