I'm taking it at the perspective of the cube being stationary because it is stationary in this scenario. The plate with the orange portal is slaming downwards, shown by the velocity effect drawn by the artist.

The cube is not moving and therefore will not carry any movement through the blue portal, until enough of its mass is out the blue portal to be influenced by gravity to make it slide downwards like in my illustration.

There is no other answer or suppositions to be made. It's established that the cube is immobile upon entry, if you've got anything else to say you should probably take it up with a certified expert in physics who will say the same exact thing as I'm telling you.

STATIONARY TO WHO? YOU NEED TO ESTABLISH A FRAME OF REFERENCE WHEN YOU SAY "STATIONARY". YOU ARE PRETENDING THAT YOU ARE SOME GOD-MODE OBSERVER WHO CAN ESTABLISH SOME ABSOLUTE FRAME OF REFERENCE WHICH NO PHYSICIST BELIEVES IN. EVEN IF YOU WERE CORRECT, IT WOULD STILL BE IRRELEVANT BECAUSE THE FRAME OF REFERENCE OF THE PORTAL MUST BE ACCOUNTED FOR SINCE THAT IS WHAT THE BALL IS MOVING THROUGH.

HOW IS THIS SO IMPOSSIBLE TO UNDERSTAND? WHY ARE YOU ACTING SO SMUG WHEN YOU HAVE NO COMPREHENSION OF THIS INCREDIBLY BASIC CONCEPT?

If the cube is not moving then how it gets out of the blue portal? Your logic makes moving through the portal imposible.

Because it doesn't need to move to get out of the blue portal, the orange portal engulfs it completely. Have you ever even fucking played Portal? If I take a huge sheet of paper, make a hole in it and drop it around you from top to bottom, do you need to move in order to end up on the other side of the paper sheet? No, because the sheet is doing it for you. That's how portals work. Whatever goes in the orange portal immediately goes out the blue one. Why is it so fucking hard to understand? Why are you even trying to argue when you don't even know the base of the argument which is how the portals function?

I mean jesus christ, get a clue, the portal is on the smasher, the smasher goes down and completely engulfs the cube - whatever is engulfed by the portal IMMEDIATELY comes out of the blue portal because there is no inbetween space. Read the first post again and keep re-reading it until you get it through your thick head. If you still don't get it then you're too far gone, sorry mate.

But the game dissagrees with you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S85nudR6D-Y The solution A cant be correct unless the portals have the same velocity all the time (destiny explained it a milion times on stream)

that's more to do with the fact that in game portals disappear on moving objects except for one room which seems to break canon for the sake of the puzzle as all other times it fails. It's simply not meant to work in game.

You are literally fucking retarded. How can someone so fucking clueless post with such confidence?

Portals are fictional, clearly we all have different ideas about how Portals "should" work. Which means we get different answers depending on how we think they would work.
