He's a central midfielder like Vidal. Can play CDM and CAM but his best position is as a box-to-box midfielder - similar to Pogba in that regards.

You know, Old Trafford, even as a kid, before I was imagining I could be a top club manager, I always had this historical connection of Old Trafford as the Theatre of Dreams. And then the first time that I played there, it was exactly a dream because it was winning the Champions League with Porto – making history for myself and for my country. So for me, it was always that connection with, like, anything is possible so why can’t I do it with Man Utd playing at home with the stadium behind us. So, I’m waiting for them.

This makes me love him even more. You can tell this is his dream job, his final destination for his managerial journey. I hope he stays with us for 10+ years, I really do.

Well Rose is currently the starting LB as Shaw is out. So I would have Bertrand in the 2nd XI as Rose will be starting until Shaw gets his place back (hopefully soon but anything can happen).

I think the issue is that they originally wanted to play Diarra behind and since he got injured they replaced him with Kante instead. However Kante didn't really fit like Diarra did so he got dropped and instead of playing with a DM like Schneiderlin or Cabye, they played a flat 3 midfield with Pogba and Matuidi dropping deep to cover the CB's.

The only problem with that is while Pogba/Matuidi can defend, they are much better further forward as box-to-box midfielders with a DM behind or paired with a DM. Since France were not playing with a DM, it meant Pogba dropped deeper which doesn't really utilize his talents properly. Matuidi didn't drop deep enough which meant Pogba had to, when I think Matuidi should of been the one to go deep more.

Also why was Sissoko playing instead of Kante? They look much better in the midfield with Kante playing behind Pogba and Matuidi, which explains why Pogba was dropping deep.

Wasting Pogba's attacking talents when you ask him to defend more and trust Sissoko of all players to take his role.

Yeah I agree that he hasn't been at his best, but not through a lack of trying. He could of easily had 5/6 goals this tournament as well. I think they look more balanced as most of their plays go through Ronaldo when he's on, otherwise their plays vary.

But he still did his part as captain and has stepped up during the many penalty shootouts they had, which is still no easy feet.

*Annoyed that Martial didn't get more playing time, even though he hasn't been great, it is hard to impress with 5/10 minute cameos. Similar to Hodgson and not playing Rashford. Not saying Martial would of won the game or whatever, but he has stepped up multiple times for us this season so no reason why he can't do the same for France if he was given the chance.

Also, congrats to Nani and especially Ronaldo. I was upset that he had to come off and seeing him cry but I am so happy he has won. I think the Ballon D'or is his for sure this year and thoroughly deserved.

*edit - got pissed off with /r/soccer and Martial not getting enough time on the pitch.

Yes, they get this summer window like Barca did as they would need to get players + the appealed against the ban so the decision was delayed. After this window the ban comes into play for the next 2 windows and expires winter 2017.

Also it's not a literal transfer ban per se, but they can't register a player during the next 2 windows for. For example Barca got Turan and Vidal but they couldn't play until the winter (they signed in the 2015 summer window).

I would imagine working together to get players to big clubs for lots of money. Mendes is trusted by many clubs so if he steps in for example into the Pogba transfer, it may be easier to get him as Mendes can offer them someone like James or simply be more convincing.

Especially because of this. We now have Mendes's top client as well as being in a position where we are willing to spend lots of money to get top players. This makes us a massive client for them if we want players they have (or would help us get).

Well Mendes is the #1 agent in football and Raiola is around #5 which means we have 2 top agents willing to work together. This helps us as Mendes is trusted by United lots (Sir Alex highly rated him) and Raiola who now has 2 players with us (Zlatan & Mkhitaryan) as well looking at bringing Pogba to us as well as representing other top players.

He's not really wrong and neither are you - both of what you say can be right as different agents handle things differently, however we don't know which of these Raiola is actually doing for Pogba unless you work behind the scenes with him.
However what bothers me the most is how you came across several times above:

Well the Wigan game is mostly for Jose to see what our currently youth and non-euro squad is like.
He already knows what Miki and Bailly are like, so might wait before playing them. I say Bailly is more likely but really it's anyone's guess.

My only issue with this is that if say we buy Pogba for £80-100m, then we might have to pay more for a world class forward in the future.

Generally forwards are the most expensive players and if you look, 4 of the top 5 most expensive transfers are forwards. Even though James (5th) De Bruyne (6th) and Zidane (joint 7th) are all midfielders, they (or were for Zidane) are all attacking midfielders who can play forward roles and score and assist lots of goals; whereas Pogba is more of a box-to-box who can play CAM but is better suited to CM and won't put up the same numbers that those 3 do/did (even though his overall game is better).

Might be a stupid issue but that's what I can see happening. I'd still love Pogba though.

Nah it works fine, a bit slow though that depends on your internet/data connection. I live just outside London and had no problem though it doesn't have things like train tracks so you just end up travelling through fields. Even has locations for Gyms or PokeStops like train stations so it's all setup to go.

It's not in the UK yet, though if you are on Android you can download the .apk file. This is where I got mine.

You can get in on iOS by changing your location settings to Australia, New Zealand or USA. You may need to log out of your Apple account though to do so.

God no. I love Mata but he is too slow, too weak and can't beat his man enough to be considered a good option for the wing. He also has a tendency to drift central, which fucks over whoever plays RB.

It's one of the reasons Darmian struggled when playing with him and why Valencia was preferred as he can cover more ground as he is a workhorse.

You make a good point there. It's irrelevant whether or not it's fair to other clubs, if another club really wants your player more than you do then they'll pay the price that you set, simple as.

Except from it wouldn't be stupid not to. West Ham are in a good position at the moment with their new stadium (cheap yearly cost + 50k season tickets already sold), good owners willing to invest in the club + TV money and can easily spend £50m per on a single player (linked to strikers costing £30m+).

They are not a poor club at all, so £45m for a key player who is in his prime is simply not a good deal for them. He is a top player and one the best free kick takers in the world, can score and assist and suites their play-style. Who else can they get who can provide the same results, for the same price and would be happy at West Ham like Payet is?

That was around £320k per month after tax or roughly £80k per week in Italy, which is now correct. Yeah I said Bastian was on £200k+ but there were reports that it was actually £140k, which is what Mata is on as well.

Well apparently he is on €4.5m per year which IS after taxes in Italy is roughly £80k a week and is the joint 3rd highest paid player in Italy.

He is also Juve's highest earner whereas we have 5 players on the same or higher. These are De Gea, Bastian(rumoured to be £140k), Mkhitryan, Zlatan and Rooney. We're offering him €13m per year which would make him the highest earner in Italy by €6.5m (highest earner is De Rossi on €6.5m), yet he'd be our 3rd/4th highest earner on around £210k per week (unless someone wants to correct me here).

*Edit 1: I'm fucking stupid and forgot there are weeks.

*Edit 2: We are effectively increasing his wages by about 2.5 times as much.

Ah yes, good ol' Bakayoko...

So I just did some Google-Fu on him and he is a Defensive Mid, 21 years old, 6 1/2 ft tall. He played 23 games this season for Monaco, scored 1 goal and seems to be good defensively from his stats on WhoScored but as I haven't seen him play, I can't make a judgement here.

A bit pointless though as we have Fosu-Mensah who plays the same position, is 3 years younger and is a better talent.

It is very, very unlikely and quite rare for this to happen however it does also depend on many circumstances (country of birth, lower/bigger leagues, league location, small/big clubs etc.), but some people just look older/younger than they really are. As an example, I am 20 and 5,8' tall and with a beard I look about 19/20. When I shave I look 13/14.
