Ok, so I couldn't help myself and I went straight to BvS. Could you tell me what I missed from your edit that wasn't in the original, that I need to appreciate/understand BvS?

Your BvS was a pretty good movie! I can't comment on how it compares to the original obviously, since I haven't seen that, but I watched with a friend who said it was definitely better.

The cuts were a bit rough in places, obviously because of the limited options you had editing it after the fact, but I honestly didn't mind them much.

And I don't know if you can remove any dialogue or shots that have music over it, that might be too complicated; but if so, I think there's a lot that can still be cut.

First, I would start the movie with only the most abstract closeups of the gun shooting, the pearls falling, etc. (and the parts with bruce in the woods are fine as is) If you want to include any other shots besides that, I would make them CRAZY quick cuts, maybe even to the level of being practically subliminal.

Second, when the bomb goes off in the capital and we see Superman unaffected by it physically, the piano parts seriously clashes with the moment. I would have complete silence or just the ambient tone they had playing just before that, but it should feel more alien and unsettling than sad because it's too bizarre of a moment to read as sad until after.

Also, do you think it's possible to change the logos on the computer files for each justice league superhero into something else? It's not weird that Lex would make logos for them, since he's an odd guy, but it is weird that they would eventually use those logos like a company brand. I would just put code words (that don't match up to their actual names) or maybe security camera photos of their faces (you could just use photos of the actors if they're all announced) or something there that indicate that one document is on an anomalous high-speed individual, etc.

Also, maybe it's the poor delivery of the line "he couldn't stop it. he couldn't see it", but it seems like it's spoon-feeding the audience more than we need.

And I would definitely remove the "excuse me, don't I know you?" line, and instead just have her get silently suspicious, step over to get a better look, then get grabbed. That'd be tricky to do with editing alone, but not impossible. First you'd have to slow Louis' whole actions down if possible, and silence her steps so it seems more like she's creeping over. Then, just as she's about to say her line, cut to just the guy's back instead, then cut back to her (but using the reaction shot in which she gets grabbed, just don't show the grab yet, instead, cut back the guy), cut back to the guy so we can see him turn around, then cut again to Louis' reaction shot in which she gets grabbed but this time include the grab. Otherwise Louis looks like a complete idiot that's weirdly friendly in this scene.

As for the 'Martha' moment (that I had heard about before seeing this), it had a surprisingly good tone. I was actually enjoying it quite a bit despite me not liking the whole concept of it as a storytelling device. BUT, I would absolutely have preferred that nobody says (or shows) the name again after Superman does the first time, nor should Louis say "it's his mother's name". Batman should just snap out of it after Louis comes over and touches Superman, and just want to save Martha knowing that it's someone Superman cares about (that is clearly not the name of another alien, so the mere fact that Superman cares about someone with that name suggests a degree of humanity that Batman wasn't aware of).

Also, I'd cut out Martha's "the cape" line after she says "i figured". It's a weird joke because it calls attention to the trope-iness of the characters' costumes. They both wear capes because they were designed by comic book artists that liked capes. But in the world of the movie they are supposed to be completely for different independent reasons. It'd be like pointing out the unbelievably of the glasses disguise; it's taking the storytelling in the wrong direction. It's a joke that's better suited for something like Deadpool.

The "oh shit" line from Batman is kinda lame. I'd prefer to go with just the facial expression as a reaction.

As soon as Superman dies, things drag on a TON, with almost no story or dialogue or anything. Lois stokes his face and kisses him and whatnot for an unnecessary amount of screentime. We get it, she's mourning him. Lex's shaving scene is unnecessary (I'd rather just assume that the cranberry pit made him go bald or something). The shots of the barber shop, sandwich shop, green bean casserole closeup at the funeral, are weird and pointless. I'm not sure if the ring scene is good or not. The funeral itself goes on way too long, we just need an establishing shot of the location and the superman S on the coffin, everything else is gratuitous.

The funeral expenses anonymous donor dialogue is cringey forced moment. Just cut to Bruce standing there right after we see the money-shot of S on the coffin.

Also, there's an unnecessary amount of time that passes in between Bruce's voiceover and seeing the words "If you seek his monument look around you". We don't need to linger on the crowds for those couple of seconds, it just disrupts the good build-up with some empty space.

There's probably a lot more stuff that could probably be removed, but I'd have to go through the whole thing again to do a properly thorough analysis of it. I will say now that there is a surprisingly large amount of time between extraordinary moments in it. Compare it, for a moment, to a movie like Age of Ultron. When they're on the farm and Steve talks with Tony about the situation they're in while chopping wood, the writers still find a way to make it interesting by having Steve rip a log in half with his bare hands out of frustration. It's a way of maintaining the sci fi vibe of the central events throughout the story before too much time passes, reminding the audience that they're not in the regular real world so that there's no jarring transition at any point. In BvS on the other hand, they spend so much time in real life stuff like the entire mission in Nairomi that I found myself saying "man it's been a lot of minutes since I saw anything special or extraordinary".

Also, on a technical note, the BvS video file is squished to become thin when I watch it for some reason. I don't know if it's a google drive isssue or what. You might want to check to see if it's that way for you too.
