Arrest every single one of these people

That will definitely solve the problem once and for all!

Especially considering it only took 20-30 people to shutdown 35w for 2 hours.

Protesters shut down the interstate last winter after Jamar Clark. Did that solve the problem of police violence once and for all?

I guess they should've done nothing, that would've fixed it!

Maybe do things that actually matter, instead of blocking roads?

Foster a better relationship between the police and the members of the community. Do more community outreach events in which the police and members of the community get together, get to know each other, and build a relationship.

Elect local politicians who will do whatever it takes to help heal these communities. Politicians who will advocate for better, more compassionate police training. Local leaders who would rather unite people than play an "us vs them" game that only incites hatred and division.

Fixing this problem will take a lot of time and a lot of effort. So put in that time, and make that effort, so that this kind of shit doesn't happen again, to anyone.

Or they can just block roads and disrupt the lives of people trying to earn a living, feed their families and keep a roof over their heads.

It doesn't help that the police elect a racist to be their union leader.

Exactly. I'm sure attempts to have a relationship with the police will be highly fruitful when the police rank and file support a known racist with past lawsuits and associations with hate groups.

That dude has a laundry list of deplorable shit he's done over his career.

:/

Fixing this problem will take a lot of time and a lot of effort.

People have been working on these issues for a very long time and have put in a lot of effort. BLM isn't the first. These efforts don't make the news though, and they obviously haven't solved any problems. This has been going on long before the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. What progress has been made since then?

Or they can just block roads and disrupt the lives of people trying to earn a living, feed their families and keep a roof over their heads.

Yeah, I suppose.

...stop committing a disproportionate amount of crime and the run-ins with the police will stop...

lol you just admitted that the only reason cops are killing innocent black people is because they're racist as fuck.

No, he's saying black people commit a disproportionate amount of crime and therefore are arrested more. It makes sense.

I bet you're a white SJW.

Arrest ≠ Kill

Taillight out ≠ Deadly threat

Exclamation points will solve our problems once and for all! If I bitch and complain loud enough someone will listen!

You can't use logic with these people dude.

SmarterData is supporting people who are shutting down freeways, which affects thousands of innocent people, while chanting "abolish the police".

Think about that.

They're MURDERING INNOCENT PEOPLE

You think the Montgomery Bus Boycott didn't impact thousands of "innocent" people?

[–]hotandtiredanddrySafely Driving on a Residential Street

I like this logic. If a particular tactic doesn't immediately reverse centuries of disparity, then it's obviously a useless tactic.

People have been blocking traffic for decades, and it's accomplished nothing.

[–]hotandtiredanddrySafely Driving on a Residential Street

I can tell your user name is correct because that's definitely something Percy Chuggs would never say.

Paid overtime and the 40 hour work week exist because labor activists were willing to block traffic. The civil rights movement frequently blocked traffic. Blocking traffic on its own doesn't do much, but it's historically been a part of a collection of protest tactics which have accomplished many things.

You're right, let them do this every day!
