I was going to say "to be fair", but it isn't fair. But nonetheless -- many girls are indeed taught this by overly-cautious parents. "Don't dress like that, someone might rape you." "Don't act like that, someone might think you are a whore." etc etc.

We need to stop raising little girls to think they are princesses that are the object of all men's desires. Most girls would do far better in life if they believed they were ordinary.

I think you are right we need to change the way we talk to children and teens about these things. But I think every parent reserves the right to not send their daughter out the door dressed like a hooker with clown makeup.
