Can we include a "Youth Players In/Out" section, too? I feel like we've made a lot of moves in the last few days, and it would be nice to have them in one place.

He turned us down in Moyes' Summer and then begged premier league clubs to buy him the next. I don't like Fabregas one bit, but he's a good player. Mourinho knows him best I guess.

There's a bizarre suggestion coming from "Futbol_Mercado" that PSG are about to offer us €32m for Valencia...

I'd snap their hands off for that.

I'm a big fan of Valencia but I agree 100%.

Valencia is a good squad player though so if he left I'd want to see us get another player because we essentially lose a right back and a right winger in one.

I'm not sure Varela or TFM are ready to be backup right backup to Darmian this season and I don't fancy another season of shoehorning centerbacks out wide.

32m is a pretty good deal if you ask me

It is but I doubt it's actually happening

[–]reddit_no_likeyA new dawn is coming...

Good deal if you need the money. We don't. We need good reliable players more than anything. And since Valencia is our best player for RB (and a decent option for RW,) I wouldn't sell him.

If we do, then we'll have to be in the market for another RB again. Darmian was supposed to be our answer there, but he has yet to impress.

I wouldn't assess Darmian as "not good enough" nor Valencia as "our best player for RB". We saw them both sparsely last season (due to injuries and managerial decisions), and playing under a system that didn't suit either of them and that was very different from what we'll see this season.

For 32 million euros I'd bet 10 pounds Man United sell him immediately. 32 million for a 31 year old used as a squad player, with ONE year left on his contract?

Which I guess is strong evidence that this story is rubbish.

Valencia is much loved on here. Good club guy and athlete, but not good enough.

Never said that. I said he hasn't impressed yet. Not implying that he never will. And based on last season, Valencia was our best player at RB. I agree they didn't play as much as we'd like to have seen, and the system they played under was not ideal, but even with all that Valencia still impressed.

It's almost as if you forgot what club you're talking about. MUFC is known for losing money on players b/c they would rather take the risk of having them come good than to keep selling good players away just because they were offered a good deal.

Which I guess is strong evidence that this story is rubbish.

Something we can agree on.

Bastian to PSG rumours today? Thoughts?

I think he's very useful to us. On or off the pitch. We bought him for a reason and I don't expect Mourinho to leave him go. Need an experienced player like him in the dressing room in such a turbulent time for the club when so many players have come and gone over the past couple of seasons.

Also, not sure why you've been downvoted for posting exactly the things this thread is for. Have an upvote for discussion!

Whoever we sell, we have to replace. With LVGs clear out, we had such a lack of depth... And injuries didn't help either.

Hopefully most players are replaced with new signings, or youth players are pushed j to the first team.

Are bookies a relevant factor regarding a transfer activity? Do they know about a transfer more than a tier2/3 journalist? In the last few days of the Pogba saga i've been following a page with odds from several betting companies. Here's the link, if you can answer my questions, let me know. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/paul-pogba/club-after-summer-transfer-window

[–]TanqPhilWoodward!

Bookies move in relation to how the bets are laid (or expected to be laid if the bet situation is in flux). The odds changed because the bettors stampeded yesterday due to Raiola's statements, forcing bookies to make United odds more attractive and Juve's odds less attractive.

Don't look at odds as some kind of group wisdom. It is very reactive and reactionary. It also follows the biases of their customer demographic.

They are not relevant factor their odds in term of transfers come from mostly public information and following num of bets on certain stuff, their job is to balance(even) odds on multi choices. Look at that like football match before kick off bets can go up or down but as kick off come closer bets become more clear since they get more information that are out in public team sheets etc.

I don't expect anything new on Pogba this week.
