Marriage is between a man and a woman.

Yep and hoping on Reddit as a blind stranger to poop on somebody is going to help them understand Christ's love.

"Marriage is between people of the same race, that's the universal truth according to me & it will never change!"

    What about Romans 13:1-7?

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience...

Or Matthew 22:21's "Render unto Caesar" teaching?

These basically say "Man made the laws, and I made man. Therefore, I made the laws." And of course there are more opposing passages you can throw at me, but that's my entire point - The good book is FULL of opposing passages, and it's unethical to cherry-pick the ones that fit the worldview you already hold, while totally dismissing the others. Being a good christian is all about changing your daily life and views to fit the book; Not the other way around...

It's easy to try and force your personal beliefs on others when your beliefs are consistent... But when it's full of inconsistencies, it is simply wrong to try and force others to fit your mold of what a "good" person is, because that mold changes shape depending on who is looking at it. There are certain things that are constant throughout - Don't murder, don't steal, etc... But aside from that, nearly everything is up in the air.

The funny thing is the context of your question: The Pharisees asked Jesus that question as a trap. If he said to pay taxes, the Jews would hate him, and if he said don't pay taxes, the Romans would consider him their enemy. They tried to put Jesus in a no-win situation.

And now you asked me the same question.

I'll just say that by speaking out against the redefining of marriage, I am breaking no law.

It's not a no-win situation, really. He knew they would get taxed either way. Jesus simply said "By using Roman currency, we agree to Roman rule. Therefore, the Romans aren't wrong to tax us. There's no issue as long as God gets what belongs to Him as well." The Jews still got taxed - He simply gave them a reason to agree to it.

Obviously not. Get over it already.

I thought nk you're confusing marriage with holy matrimony. Not the same at all.

Different words to describe the same thing. There's this fad on reddit to try and pretend like they're different, and I remember when it became popular some time ago, but it's a silly argument. It's just a word game.

The reality is that marriage is a Judeo-Christian practice that goes back to the beginning of mankind. And sure, people with other beliefs practice it. And many governments codify it and make laws about it. But those are just as much "fads" as anything else because they cannot change or modify the truth.

The truth is many people of the same sex ARE married in reality. Your opinions are not truth or reality and have no impact on the fact of these marriages, even though you dismiss them as fads. BTW, judeo-Christianity does not go back to the beginning of mankind. Anthropologically speaking, it's a relativey new fad.

This is like telling an atheist "by the way, atheism is wrong, because God created the universe."

Obviously not, because there are plenty of men getting married to men this year. You're welcome to move to Saudi Arabia if you're not cool with that though.

It makes my heart hurt to think that you've procreated and are sharing your narrow minded views with your child/ren. I hope that one of them is gay and that you'll learn to love them still.
