Anther update last week, it looks like. Here is the IGG update, since I can't see the KS one anymore:

In getting set up at our new facility, I noticed an issue the spill guard that needed to be addressed. The time required to move production gave me a chance to do something about it before going into production.

The spill guard has a matte finish. The process we used to create that finish was getting marred by contact over time at a level that wasn't acceptable.We decided to retexture the skirt with a process called acid etching. It’s used a lot in automotive, to provide texture for things like dashboards. It holds up much better to the type of damage we were seeing with the original matte texture, and looks better as well.

There is only one facility in Southern Ontario to get this done. I had the tool prepped and sent it out for etching, with enough time to get it back to begin production. I found out recently that we won’t be getting the tool back until a week after it was supposed to be delivered to our facility. That means we are delayed until the 5th of August to begin shipping.

I take full responsibility for this delay. I should have allowed more time for turnaround than what was quoted. Since they're the only show in town, there’s no way to get them to expedite the service. I would have paid to have it expedited, if given the option, to stay on track.

We have the capacity to produce over 1300 units a day, so once we do get moving, we will be able to get them out to everyone fairly quickly. We’re also using multiple distribution warehouses to expedite the process from a fulfillment standpoint.

The spill guard will be much better part as a result, but we’re going to have to hold on a few more days before we can begin shipping.

If the IGG people are being told Aug 5, I would hope the KS update is earlier than that, but there's not a whole lot of time between now and then, really. Especially considering they're not even producing yet.

I am definitely glad I got my money back out of this. It might turn out amazing in the end... but the complete turn around from looking like they had their shit together in the beginning is astounding.
