Selling Blind is madness one of the best utility players we have, someone we can turn to in an injury crisis

[–]Flick_My_Bean_Geoff 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Blind is average. He can't play CB no matter what anyone says. He's not good enough in midfield either, he's not strong enough and he doesn't have the awareness to play the role as we've seen when he's previously played there.

Ok, so he can play midfield but there's no way I'd be happy to play Blind in midfield if we need to win. He's not good enough. You have to look at it this way, if he is back up to say, Carrick, is he good enough to play instead of Carrick for 20 games if he gets injured? Fact of the matter is no, he's not.

If we sell either of Rojo or Blind whilst Fellaini & Jones are still at the club it's a travesty. Both of those deserve to go before either.

I don't see where the hate is coming from for Jones. SAF loved him, he was better than Smalling up until last season or two. I would at least give him one more season.

I like Jones as a player, but he's never fit and Blind/Rojo definitely deserve more of a chance than he's already had.

The problem is everyone keeps fucking saying "give him one more season" for the past 4 seasons now...time to cut our losses.

We wouldn't be able to sell him IMO.

Sure we would, just not to anyone good. A newly promoted team or a championship club would snap him up.

I'm not even sure about that tbh. They wouldn't be able to afford his wages, and would they pay for someone as inconsistent?

fellaini is a one of a kind utility player in our squad. he's high in a kind of short squad. he adds strength to the midfield and aerial dominance, you can see in the wales - belgium game, when he entered the game he made big impact.

I don't rate him, each to their own, but I don't think he's good enough. I don't even think he's that good as a target man, the guy can't even jump. He's like a falling tree. Man Utd shouldn't be aspiring to ''hump it up to the big unskillful lump'', we now have Ibra for that who is also a great player. Not a clumsy fuck.

100% i agree you can(and we should) find someone better, but it think we have bigger priorities.

He's a useful player, not a utility player. A utility player is one who can play in several different positions. Fellaini is the exact opposite of that.

[–]Flick_My_Bean_Geoff 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Jones is English and could turn out like Smalling. No way should he be sold before Rojo or Blind.

[–]JhixDe Gea 13

Tier 5 ladies and gentlemen, tier 5.

Castles is jose's media mouthpiece though.

[–]JhixDe Gea 1

Was, got any recent evidence to back that up now he's at United?

Considering this is the first thing he has said since he joined, "was" is a broad assumption.

Wait and see.

Please not Schweini.

Please not Schweini.

Please not Schweini.

There's no reason at all why we would sell Schweinsteiger unless of course its to clear our wage bill. Its not like we need the money we can get from his sale, there's only one reason why we would not keep him. He's on massive wages.

there's only one reason why we would not keep him. He's on massive wages.

And him being a shadow of his former self and him being injured for half the time. Pep was completly right to get rid of him and we were stupid enough to not see what he was saying. He's nowhere near worth his wages.

I don't understand why this sub has such affinity to him. People keep talking about experience but I'd rather have someone young and improving than someone old and on the decline.

We also have Rooney, Carrick, Zlatan, de Gea has been here a while as has Smalling.

We don't need any more experience. We need players in their prime or improving.

[–]Flick_My_Bean_Geoff 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Because Bastian is a high profile player and one of Germanys most famous players. His name "Schweinsteiger" is instantly recognisable and he's called "Futballgott" or whatever it is.

People are blind to what he offers on the pitch, which is nothing like what you expect a 200k per week player to offer.

I'm also slightly suspicious of the fact he was injured for us for 5 months and returned just in time for Germanys Euros.

Links in to something I read about reducing spending. Probably to take the hit if we miss out on top 4 again.

why should he stay? we got alot of players in that position, he's injured too much and when he does play it takes time for him to get his rust off. i hope we'll see someone else in that position.

I actually rate him but can understand why we're selling him.

We should accept that he hasn't been good enough. Salary is high for a guy who only plays 15 games a season, too.

I would be extremely surprised if blind leaves. He is anything but average

At what position is he not average?

We spent the whole season complaining about our defensive football and yet some people are still saying that Blind was good. The few times when we were attacking and got cought out he was almost always made to look very average.

Yeah, he's very average.

Where do people expect him to fit in!?!

[–]arvindedditOnto 21.

We need depth! I don't see why we need to sell anyone unless they want out because they want to be starters

Surely Jose will want to work with them in training before and decisions are made?

Regardless, they HAVE to be replaced. We can't have another clear out, and stick with a bare-bones squad. This could lead to stronger replacements though, it isn't all bad news.

Blind could be such a useful player if we get hit by injuries again, I don't think Jose will sell him.

I only hope we don't end up selling many , eventually have a thin squad! That mistake has already been done recently!!

Feel like selling Blind is harsh. He'd be a great squad player for Mourinho, and we all know how well he understands the game tactically - something that Jose likes in his players. I'm pretty surprised, to be honest.

Yeah my big fear is the fact that if all these players leave, and an injury crisis hits again, we are really fucked. Squad is already thin, and it seems like Mourinho only wants to buy one more player....soooooo seems like a bad decision to let 3 midfielders(and one cb in blind) and a LB/CB go as well. I would certainly hope if Blind, Scweini and Mata all go we are buying at least 2 other cm's , or 3 since apparently Rooney isnt going to be playing as a cm.

Who the bloody fuck is Duncan Castles and why is he trying to hurt me?

[–]SZamanC#21 Status - Loading... 0

First of all what a name. Castles. Secondly, selling Blind would be really dumb as he's such a versatile squad player that great teams need. He can be an option at LB, CB or CDM for Mou who said he likes have only a few versatile players. Would be a shame to see Basti go after and underwhelming season but Rojo I understand, poor defender and doesn't have the best crosses.

Why is Phil Jones not in the list, but blind is?

[–]Pedantic_PatFan Favourite David De Gea 1

Castles has been awful for us but is in with José. Can't see who'd pay Bastis wages

Take a pay cut and go have a last hurrah in Germany is a guess

Would be treated like a god at any club he goes to

Mata: Thank god. Expected as well

Schweinsteiger: Indifferent if I'm honest. On the decline and it will be getting to the point where he will go on a free if we keep him any longer.

Rojo: There is a god. Not a good left back and a mistake waiting to happen at cb.

Blind: Expected. I couldn't see how he would fit in.

Schweinsteiger was the best player on the pitch for Germany against France. He still has a lot to offer imho. A better option than Carrick when fit.

He really, really wasn't.

He gave away the penalty with an absurd bit of "defending", failed completely to track Griezmann for the second, and also lost him for the other Griezmann chance that Neuer tipped around the post.

He may have looked neat and tidy in midfield with 10 yard passes, but he failed to create anything offensively, and was responsible for two goals.

when fit

Yeah, when. That being the operative word.

His best game in a long time and he still gave away a penalty, that tells you everything.

Surely not Blind. He's one of those players that can be absolutely amazing in the right system. If he played for Barca, I have no doubt he'd be world class or at least a tier below.
