I don't know, I kinda knew where Max was coming from - in a similar vein as Jinkx, for example, having this yearning for theatrics, but also staying true to a specific characterization. His entire TV appearance was about maintaining that illusion, or evoking that old hollywood glam feel, so obviously even in his interviews, some of which could be used for voice-overs for him while he's in drag, he's going to be using the affectations of his character. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, and I don't think Max Malanaphy needs to be there. The person on that show is the conceptualized Max. This isn't something new or revolutionary, (or controversial) it's not even something new to reality television.

Max came to showcase a particular concept, and he pulled it off rather well. He came to a show on which at the end of the day it doesn't really matter if you're being fake or real, your storyline & a large facet of your personality will be decided on by the producers and editors.

I think that made him very unlikely to win, but I don't think he needs to be there in untucked pulling his dick out speaking in AAVE and spinning a sob story about his life for him to make an impression on me.

For me it was something interesting, something I've been waiting for and had not seen before, and much more relatable than some of the other queens on that season. If it was not your cup of tea it was not your cup of tea.

Also, it still wasn't a British accent :D
