I think it's fucked up. I don't really want the downvotes for not circlejerking rocket league... but any time a dev adds microtransactions, especially RNG transactions like this, it's an unabashed cash grab. The Dev went, "hey, our game is popular now, how do we squeeze every penny out of it?"

Add Psyonix to the list of scumbag devs.

Is CDPR the only Dev left that cares about their customers?

They already stated why it's there and they even allowed you to remove it from view. Talk about getting off on a false controversy. Don't buy it. It adds no value. Also Rocket League was popular before it even released, get with the program bud. Go find something to be legitimately angry about and uninstall Rocket League if you're truly that bothered over this menial bullshit, don't cry on reddit looking for sympathy.

Lesson: game companies are businesses. They need to make money.

If you read the damn article, you'd see they're purely cosmetic and they're sticking to their pledge to never have a pay for advantage.

If you have a badass and fast car going up against another car, that other car isn't going to win because it has a really nice paint job.

Once again, many devs have stuck to their "pledge" about not adding microtransactions that give a player advantage and most have kept that word. However, those "other" devs get vilified on the Internet for doing the exact same thing Rocket League devs are doing. There is a clear double standard when it come to microtrans and DLC.
