Silly season has returned for the 4th summer on /r/reddevils!

Most of you know the drill.

For those who don't...From today until the window closes, a transfer round-up & discussion thread will be made every day. In these threads, ANYTHING can be talked about. Any player, in or out, any transfer fee, anything!

Now, with these threads starting, this means that rumours submitted as separate posts will be removed unless they are from reliable sources!

Balague gets a lot of hate on this sub because he's kind of a cunt. That being said, regarding Spanish transfers, especially Barcelona rumors he is actually quite good, he does know some people.

Pogba doesn't really mean anything from a Spanish point of view, other than Real Madrid might not be in for him. I take everything he says outside of Spain with a grain of salt.

He was also the first to report on the De Gea fax machine saga as it happened. Also reported earlier that day on Navas accepting the deal etc.

Certainly has his sources, but I think we're resigned to taking everything he says with a pinch of salt now.

In my opinion he is massively overrated and the amount of money is scandalous. He has said he dreams of playing for Madrid. I want players who dream of playing with united.

Going to be interesting over the next few weeks with who we're going to be linked to now that the Euros are over and journalists will be looking for something to write about.

Now that the Pogba talk may start dying down, I'm looking forward to seeing who will come up with the most ridiculous rumour. Gaitan is gone so I'm hoping that we get a new annual target.

Bookies are rarely a good barometer on the likelihood of a transfer, especially at those odds.

Looking through Skybet, we're just as likely, if not more likely to buy Higuain (8/1) and Ronaldo (7/1).

Thank you, I don't know how many times I've read on this sub that Schneiderlin is a DM, he's not at all. He puts in a great defensive shift as a B2B but he does need someone who sits deeper than him to clear up the shit he misses.

That just is not true. I debunked that myth personally by looking at a heat map (courtesy of Squawka) of Wanyama and Schneiderlin when they were playing at Southampton.

Schneiderin was always the one who covered more defensive ground, what really made it clear was in a couple games when he was paired up with Alderweireld he was still the pivot in regards to Alderweireld going forward more.

I'd be genuinely interested in seeing those heat maps you mention cause what I've heard from Southampton fans, as well as what I observed watching their matches was that Schneiderlin had a lot more of a free role than Wanyama but if you want to prove me wrong, go ahead.

Go imo, especially if we can get a decent fee from the likes of Everton or Valencia. He's not been brilliant since he joined, he's likely on very big wages and he doesn't fit Mourinho's system at all.

Best keeper and front line in the league. The defence is young and promising with plenty of cover, but I wouldn't say no to a RB.

The centre of midfield is still the issue, although I think as well as signing someone, we have an important task of deciding who to try and offload, we have about 12 players for the (probably 2) spots as it is ! A lot of it will most likely boil down to what offers we get in the end. Although none of the current lot are close to being world class.
