Remember y'all, I'm donating a $100 if we sign Pogba to a charity of y'all's choice.

If we can spend 120 on Pogba can we just please get Kante? Could get him EASILY less than 40 and we can hold the midfelid and knows how the PL works.

[–]the_trainmanRobson 0ポイント1ポイント  (4子コメント)

Why? We have Morgan and Blind as cover for CDM. and 40M isn't a small amount. And also, CDM isn't out most pressing need right now. B2B CM is and that's why we're going after pogba.

I think we shouldn't write off Morgan just yet and I don't understand why everyone (most folks) is doing it. He is also PL proven, breaks up plays quite well and with the right cm beside him, he'll be a revelation.

Kante last season was better than Schneiderlin ever has been. Kante put players like Schneiderlin to shame last season.

Also I don't get the Schneiderlin love. He played in an organised team who worked hard for each other. In his 4 years in the premier league I could probably barely count on one hand where I've watched games and he has stood out above the rest. He seems like one of those players where people are just always going to be making excuses for him. He needs to improve a lot, even if he performed like he did at Southampton, that wouldn't be good enough for a title challenging side

[–]the_trainmanRobson 0ポイント1ポイント  (2子コメント)

I am not denying Kante was a monster last year but he played fantastically for a team whose system suited his playing style to a T. Who is to know that he will play as good for us? Also, Kante stands out because of LC's kamikaze way of playing - lots of running, lots of physicality and tackling, constant counter attacking play. An effective DM is not supposed to stand out - effective positioning, break up play, intercept/tackle when needed and pass the ball along.

That being said, it is extremely wrong and unfair that we are singling out players when the whole team played bad in a system that was bad while the team never settled down on a formation. Morgan never played all games even when he was fit, he never had a fixed CM lineup ahead of him and even when he did, LVG often used to change his tactic quite drastically from game to game. I mean, give the man a break and let him settle down into a team and at least give him one more year to show what he's made of

I am not saying Schneiderlin does not deserve another year, I am saying he needs to get a lot better. Even if he performed at the Southampton level, he needs to get better. So far he hasn't been good enough when he had the chances, I don't buy into the excuses. Good players will perform well more often than not, no excuses.

[–]the_trainmanRobson 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

I am also not denying that he needs to get better, but so does Memphis, so does Rooney, so does Mata, so does Damian... If we bring in Kante who is a direct competition to Morgan, we're not giving him a chance to improve and build on his first season.. Is all I am saying. It's not excuses, it's mam management. It's not easy to leave your comfort zone and move to a club like United.

Martial did it, yes, but so did Chicharito and Valencia and look how their future seasons turned out. Everything needs a little bit of time and that's all I am pleading from the group

He's less likely to move this summer.

Leicester was open to moving Vardy around but he didnt want it.

Fellaini, stay or go?

I like him but I don't see him as a Mourinho player (nor a United player for that matter). I'd want him to go but I think he'll stay.

Base it off how he's performed for the club when selected? He should stay as a valuable squad player.

Stay. That golden web sweeper can terrorize small team's defenders. Useful

Won't be a starter, but he's a useful weapon that I think Mourinho will enjoy selectively deploying.

Fellaini won't be satisfied with being "selectively deployed." If he doesn't get regular playing time, he'll force himself out.

Im still not used to seeing "Free Transfer" next to Zlatan's name. Like that's just mindblowing to me

Regardless of any more incoming transfers, I hope that Mourinho brings that hunger & desire to win that we had during the SAF era. Mentality goes a long way... I'm hopeful

What do you all think our chances of signing Pogba actually are?

I'd say 40-60 for signing him..

Next to nothing. Honestly I just don't think there is enough to the story. I can see Juve rejecting the offer out of Pride, wanting to keep a player in order to get them far in the CL etc. but I also can't see Pogba forcing his way out, which is the only way Juve will accept unless we go higher with our bid.

There's still a chance as there always is but I don't think Pogba will be leaving for us, maybe Madrid though. I can't see him staying in Juve much longer. He's already won all he can in Italy and he will have a better shot at winning the CL with Madrid.

I agree with your reasoning 100% but that's the very reason I'd say we have a chance. If he's the 4th player to Mourinho's jigsaw as the media have said then Woody will throw so much money at Juve that they'd be stupid to turn it down.

I think they might just be stupid enough to turn down our offers just to prove to themselves they're one of the big clubs and not some feeder club like some of their fans seem to assume others think they are. Still everyone has a price, it's whether we are willing to find theirs.

[–]the_trainmanRobson 0ポイント1ポイント  (2子コメント)

They ARE a big club and the only reason were bigger right now is because of PL money. Juve have as big and rich of a history as we do, are the biggest club in their country, are in the CL and he's their best player.

Whether they keep Pogba or not, they stand a big chance in CL next year so this pogba thing is much harder than many of us are making it out to be. I mean, it's Juventus we're talking about, not Roma or Napoli

Yeah I know they are a big club, I was saying that some of their fans have a small club mentality even though they are a big club and I was just saying possibly the Juve officials probably see this as a way to solidify their status as an Elite team who won't be bullied for their best players. It's all speculation anyways

[–]the_trainmanRobson 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Oh yea. I agree with that completely. They would want to put their foot down and make a statement 'we don't sell out best players'... Which is what i fear will most likely happen

50/50. He either decides to leave or doesn't.

If it's Pogba or not, I think the 4th player is a sure thing

Don't think Mourinho would talk so confidently about the 4th if he thought it wouldn't happen and that he'd have to fall back on a backup plan

But fuck it, it's POGBA

I wonder how many players we'll sign? Are we only chasing a midfielder (Pogba)?

Think we'll strengthen other areas? I assume we'll be replacing any player we sell, otherwise I think we'd have worse team depth than ever.

I still think we need cover/competition at right back and an older experienced centre back. Few names id put forward. Ashley Williams - no nonsense defender and will definitely be a leader along that back line. Howedes (or however you spell it) again no nonsense, he'd solidify that back 4. Miranda - not been up to date on his current form because I cant stans Serie A football but he used to be solid. These are all supposed to be short term whilst Bailly/any other cb develops. Just my opinion btw.

Tbh though I'm not worried about transfers this year. I just know Jose won't leave anything to chance and I fully trust he'll get what he needs. Something i didnt under Lvg and Moyes.

When reports initially started to come in from Di Marzio and L'Equipe I thought maybe we have a chance, albeit a small one. Now I have no idea if those reports were accurate or not and don't know what to believe. Hopefully Mou/Woody have a back up signing ready to go for if the Pogba deal doesn't eventuate.

[–]MalforianJose Mourinho 4

Until the Euros have ended we won't get a better picture, so not long!

Seems like the reports were accurate about us agreeing with Pobga, the issue is agreeing with Juve.

Juventus are showing interest in ManUtd outcast Memphis Depay and are ready to take the 22-year-old off Jose Mourinho’s hands.(Tuttosport)

If Pogba came as part of the deal then absofuckinglutely.

Meh, I'd rather just drop 120M for Pogba. Dealy has been here one season, he could be an amazing player if he comes good.

Yeah if they give us pogba for £80m maybe
