First the toys came out way before the movie did. Now I do realize that there have been toys that have come out before the movie before, such as the toys for the Star Wars prequels and The Force Awakens, but the Star Wars prequels and The Force Awakens wasn't an all female reboot of the Star Wars movies.

Second, who really were these toys targeted for? The movie hasn't been released yet so there are no real fans. Kids probably aren't familiar enough with Ghostbusters to really want to spend their allowance on Ghostbusters toys when there are Star Wars figures, Power Rangers, Minecraft, Legos, Ninja Turtles, so on and so forth..., and while the feminists do scream that hating this movie makes you a sexist (even though it hasn't been released yet. I know I bring that up a lot in this post, but that's only because it's a very important detail), it just doesn't seem like even they would buy the toys for themselves or for their kids.

And you know, I don't know of anyone who saw the trailer and said "Yes, I may finally get my long awaited Melissa McCarthy action figure!"

No surprise. Some movies cannot be remade. Ghostbusters was as good as it will ever be for that story line.

As mod, I am not going to tolerate stupid questions on how is this conservative. Let me make this clear. The original Ghostbusters movie is regarded as a classic, and when storylines came out about this remake, it was clear that they are changing up the entire message and the entire point.

We conservatives didn't make this political: liberals started screaming sexism! because the most visible difference is that this new Ghostbuster is all women. Again, of course it doesn't look political on its face, and we didn't want it to be, but rather than accepting that this version of Ghostbusters is just going to be another in a long line of Summer 2016 which are going to die, feminists started making this political at us.

If you don't know why something is in /r/conservative, don't be lazy: Google it, and the reasoning becomes sharply evident. This movie is going to suck and rather than accepting it and moving on, the studio is going to create a straw man of gross sexism to blame rather than the fact that they changed all the core themes that made the original Ghostbusters so good to begin with. "It's not our fault," says Sony. "it's those sexists who didn't see it." Oops, no women will be going either. If it was merely sexism, and it was a good movie, women would still go. But they won't.

If you don't know why something is political in our subreddit, look it up first, and it will almost always become super-obvious.
