With no real idea where to post this but here I'd like to share my comment of today why surveilling muslims for the simple fact that they're muslims is not only flat out retarded but dangerous as hell. Doing so would IMO start a timebomb with no way to tell when it's going to explode and no way to turn it off.

So here goes: "Dude what would you do if you were under constant government surveillance simply because of your religion? Now I expect a comment like "but whatabout the NSA" and yes you're right, they do spy on citizens. But what you're suggesting is several times worse. Constant surveillance of ~3 million citizens, 99+% of them completely innocent of radicalisation, simply because it would make people like you sleep better at night.

Well fuck that shit man. Giving the rest of society a false sense of security by oppressing a minority isn't the way to go. I get that radicalisation is a major problem in this world but can't you see that it would completely legitimise radicalisation in their eyes, being the oppressed, the marginalized, the unwanted. How many reasons do you need for martyrdom? Would you doubt your beliefs when your own home country doesn't want you to live life in freedom, just because the rest of society wants a false sense of security? No, you'll stand by them, because that's basic psychology.

See from my perspective, what you want to do is fight hate with more hate. That doesn't work. Fighting fire with an unnamed liquid, that looks and behaves like water, tastes nice until the hangover some time later when you realize shit I've made a huge mistake last night. It looks appealing until it isn't anymore some time later. Oppressed people do not tolerate their oppression, they will rebel against it and when they do so, shit will hit the fan. Just look at the way its gone down in Dallas just hours ago. And you want to do it all over again with people from a religion/ideology known for the last 3 decades to have believers who don't mind using rebellion aka terrorism to further their agenda. Great lack of foresight there.

I thought you lot were near unanimously in love with the concept called freedom, boasting about how much freedom you enjoy in life. Last I checked America was called the land of the free. Oppressing people because of their religion/ideology isn't freedom, I thought we were past that stage since McCarthyism but apparently it's still a wildly popular concept.

Make America Great Again my ass, a complete fucking shambles of a slogan if you want to make life miserable for 1% of society. How much of an American patriot can you possibly call yourself when you want to make life worse for 1% of your countrymen and women. Should fucking call it MEAGA: Make America East Germany again. Some Stasi bullshit. It is Unamerican as Americans like to say to stifle any conversation about it. 'Een complete dooddoener' in my language.

Yeah this is an angry comment. Yeah use it to show people with ideas similar to yours: 'hurr durr angry liberal/SJW'. I don't mind, at least I'll have brought my message across to some people who might not be as jovial about this idea as Trumpettes are. Besides, I could do exactly the same.

I don't care how many ad homs I used, I made my opinion clear. And even if you're not a Trump supporter or for a politician with similar ideas, consider this a message not to you personally, but to those people that are supporters of people like Trump.
