Pogba addresses a serious need in the squad.

Ronaldo would just be superfluous at this time and would hamper Martial's development.

Would have to be Pogba. Martial has the potential to be a world class player for us for the next 10 years and i'd hate to lose him just to have Ronaldo for a couple of years.

Ronaldo although still Worldclass is on a steady decline. And hampers development in a flourishing position in the squad. Pogba fills a weak area with the exact qualities the team needs, not even reached full potential and creates a balance to the team.

If Ronaldo came the team would still look top heavy with a soft underbelly. With pogba I think United then become the best squad in the league easily.

Ronaldo.

He's a once in a generation player, and the morality boost alone from having him on the pitch would be enough to cover the cracks until he's too old, and by then we will have found a proper midfielder.

Am I certain we'd win the title next season with Pogba? No, I am not.

Do I think we would have won the title with Ronaldo in the team? Absolutely, no doubt.

While i do agree with everything you said, having Ronaldo would only hinder the development of both, Martial and Memphis who have great potential. Choosing Pogba now not only adresses one of the weakness the club has, it also doesn't hurt us in the long run.
