Hiro and Masa are very nice people. Although I didn't catch them much during the days, whenever I return to the apartment, they will greet me and welcome me. The instructions written by Hiro and Masa were super detailed and the apartment can be found easily. The apartment is very very convenient with lots of convenience stores around, you can even order from Amazon to have to ship to a convenience store near the apartment which is only about 2-3 minutes away. The apartment is 6-7 minutes stroll away from Yoyogi station, and Yoyogi station is only 16 minutes away from Akihabara via the Chou line and Shinjuku/Harajuku is only 2-3 minutes away via the Yamanote line. Apartment is super super clean and is super spacious. It is the biggest room in the house. Toilet is well-equipped with everything you need, including detergent and softener which smell super super nice. I will definitely come back here whenever I come back to Japan.

J'ai été très chaleureusement accueilli par Hiro à mon arrivée. La chambre est en tout point conforme à la description faite dans un bel et propre appartement au sommet d'un immeuble (la vue des buildings depuis la coursive est juste impressionnante). Le quartier est très agréable et l'accès aux quartiers avoisinants aisé à pied ou en métro. J'ai passé un très très agréable séjour !

He's absolutely friendly as a host. Humble and very kind. The room itself was so clean, homey, and near from the station (which mean so important for me!) Bathroom quite big and nice. For the mini kitchen, we can use and eat everything there (especially for the snacks! :p Overall, I had a great experience in this place! Think I have a new friend also here :)

Urban local Yoyogi is located conveniently, very close to strategic train station and 24H convenience stores (and for me the Coco Ichibanya next door is a huge plus point). The how-to-get-there instructions given were very clear. The apartment smells very nice and I love the interior design. This is my first time using AirBnB with live-in hosts and it was a good experience and I wouldn't doubt to come back

The experience was my first using air bnb, and it was a smooth one from getting there, entering the flat and finding all things as described in the handbook provided. Furthermore the flat was in a good state on arrival.

Kimika is such a nice and helpful host. She also has a very comfortable apartment. The room was clean and tidy, two large beds with pillows, great views, nice bathroom with shower and hot water, and it's only a few minutes walk from Higashi Shinjuku Station. Besides, the price was reasonably cheap. We really enjoyed our stay in her apartment. It's very recommended!

The location was very convenient and accessible to many restaurants and Shops, it is an ideal apartment stay for two person as the apartment is small. However, Kimika is always very helpful and replies quickly whenever i asked her any enquiry, thankful for her kind assistance.

Misako was an amazing host! As an English-speaking guy who had some difficulty communicating while holidaying in Japan, it was a huge relief when I realized she spoke excellent English. Communication was a breeze and we candidly chatted about many things (which I didn't really have a chance to do with my other Airbnb hosts). As she had already made plans for the weekend (I arrived on Fri evening), she alerted me to the timings she would be in the house the next day. I had to adjust my own timings to suit hers. But this was not a problem. We agreed on this arrangement before she confirmed my stay. I left the house with her in the morning, and came back only after she returned to the house. Not an issue for me, as I planned to explore Tokyo as much as I could, and not to sleep all day in the room! The location was excellent. A quiet neighbourhood about 10 mins walk from the famous 6-way scrambled crossing in Shibuya. Otherwise, it's physically nearer to the Shinsen subway station (a line that essentially serves the residential neighbourhoods). Her house is very well kept (I am ashamed of my own home after visiting hers) and is very clean. I was honored to be her 2nd Airbnb guest ever. The tatami room was excellent! It was very spacious by Japanese standards. She had many clean futons kept in the cupboard and it provided me with a very comfortable sleep. As the room is somewhat near to the road, there is some slight occasional traffic noise, which I am usually a bit more sensitive to. But it is probably very tolerable to most people, and I managed to adjust to it quickly and slept very well through the night. She offered me a simple but surprisingly delicious toast and good coffee for breakfast the next morning, and it was a perfect last breakfast for my holiday in Japan! This was my best Airbnb homestay experience in Japan so far. Thank you very much Misako-chan!

It was a wonderfull stay at Misako's place. The flat is very good located in Shibuya, Tokyo. She is a very good host and helps wherever she can. I was always on the run through Tokyo and did not stay home a lot. But still we managed to have some nice conversations about my experinces and questions about Japan in late evening/night. She is very interessted in foreigners view of Tokyo and is able to give a better understanding in most points. (I guess no one can really understand all aspects of this crazy city ;) ) So if you want to discover Tokyo and have a nice host to have a chat about your daily experiences and Japanese culture, I can recommend Misako's Tatami.

Misako's place is great! It's a short walk to the main area of shibuya which I loved. She was also extremely sweet and very helpful. When I went to japan a lot was closed including the banks so I was having a hard time exchanging currency. When I told her she looked up a place within walking distance that I could go to do just that. She's very sweet and has a lot if cool resources on things to do. The classic tatami mat room is also nice and comfortable. I really enjoyed my time at her place :)

It was just perfect! Misako is an extraordinary person. I'm so happy to met her. And her place is always clean and ready to make you feel like at home.

Misako is the perfect host, nice, open minded and always helping if you have a question. In her appartement I felt like at home, it is clean and cozy. The place is relative quiet, but only a few minutes walk from the young, energetic and pulsing life in Shibuya/Tokyo - the ideal starting point to discover this amazing city. I would always prefer Misakos place over any 5star hotel!

Misako san is a very friendly and welcoming host. Everything is clean and tidy. The room is very spacious and well-lit. However I suggest visitors not to travel from JR Shibuya station if you are carrying huge luggage. I hope I didn't scare Misako san out by taking photos at her home! ^_^

Host was very helpful and we got breakfast vouchers for the cafe downstairs. Great to start the stroll of Tokyo with ryokucya and Norwegian pastries. The place is a lot closer from yoyogi kouenmae if you know how to transfer to metro from JR.

Unique setting (traditional Japanese meets Norwegian design) that offers an experience hard to find in today's Tokyo. A rewarding experience for those who can appreciate good design and tatami.

My stay with my family in Haru's apartment wasn't a very pleasant one. A few words to describe maybe? Dirty, dusty, old, stinky, inconvenient and hard to locate. It was alright that we didn't receive any welcome and did not see Haru in person and we took the keys from his mailbox. However, we were shocked to realize that THERE WAS NO ELEVATOR. That means that we had to lug our luggage up three storeys into his apartment. The moment we opened the door of the apartment, nothing pleasant welcome us, instead there was a bad stench. Can you imagine living with a stench for 4 nights? We couldn't take it, so we invested on a freshener and sprayed the entire house each time we got back. We also realize that the entire place is very dirty and dusty. Dirty, dusty and stinky. We did not even dare to use the washing machine or kitchen. In addition, the place did not even have a television. To realize that this isn't a NEW APARTMENT, but actually a NEW LISTING in airbnb. I am sorry that i've left such a review, but I think it is important that I highlight to anyone who might chance upon this as I really hope you have a pleasant stay during your holiday instead of going back to rest in such a place. Furthermore, it wasn't even cheap to start with. I thought we could have stayed at a much better place with the price we paid for. And I could only blame myself for not doing my research better. thanks for reading.

This place was small but quiet and convenient,my family took a good rest here. 房子小但是很安静方便,我的家人在这里休息得不错。

I would like to thank you so much for letting us stay in the flat. We were 5 persons and there was enough space for us. The flat is clean and in nice location close to the subway. I would like to thank Huro for his help as one of my friends forget his i pad in the flat and Huro helped us and was very cooperative. If I come back to Tokyo I will definitely stay in the flat again.

Haru was very prompt towards all our enquiries! He also provide us with a very detailed pdf file on the house rules and direction. Although we never met him personally, we were very happy during the stay and would definitely recommend to our friend!

It was so satisfying staying in this apartment, and it was so nice to be able to see Tokyo Tower even from the bedroom especially when it's at night.

The apartment was located in a great area close to the stations with tons of restaurants opened til late at night. Nico & Ken were very helpful. They are the best airbnb host ever! we will definitely book the place again next time we come back to visit tokyo.

Ken and Nico were extremely welcoming and has sent lots of informational instructions and reminders which made our trip extremely convenience. The apartment is awesome and exactly as beautiful as it shows on photos. Walk in 3 minutes to the subway station and within a starting taxi fare to Ginza area. Ken & Nico could not have been better hosts, from the time we arrived till the time we left nothing was a hassle. The apartment is incredible with everything you need and is impeccably furnished (love the talking cow in the fridge). Great position with easy access to get around Tokyo. They assisted us in booking transport last minute to the airport as our flights were changed to 6:00am. To the point of being contactable in the early hours. If you are staying in Tokyo, make sure you book Happy Home Tokyo.

THE FLAT WAS CONVENIENT, CLEAN AND THE PORTABLE WIFI WAS VERY USEFUL. IT IS THREE MINUTES WALK FROM THE STATION, AND PERFECTLY SUITABLE FOR ONE OR TWO PEOPLE TO STAY.

Taise is helpful! I really thankful that she gave extended hand on my matters. The room is clean & comfy as pictures shown. The building itself may looked a bit old but personally I feel is ok. There are washers/dryer available in the building. The only 1 small bad point is that the room's door doesn't has much sound proofed. You tends to hear noises when people walking past & opening/closing doors. A little advise to travelers coming to the apt at Shinjuku station via Narita Express. Walk towards West exit and take Oedo line from Shinjuku-Nishiguchi station is a much easier route. Overall, I'm happy staying here and will definitely back again.

Nice place!! I was surprised with the room after reading the preview review. The bed was very comfortable, the TV, wifi and the elevator to access the apartment was working. Everything was provided and the room was clean. Thank Cristina, I really recommend !!

We met in front of a drugstore at a major crossing that was about 6-7 minutes away from Nishi-Shinjuku station. Myorang was very kind, and she lives right next to the apartment room so it's very easy to reach her if you need to. Her husband was really nice too; he apologized many times when the dryer of the washing machine didn't work. Tip: The apartment is very close from Nishishinjuku-Gochome station, but it's a bit of a walk from Nishi-Shinjuku station. So don't get these two confused. Not much dining options nearby the apartment, but there's a 24 hour McDonalds right by the Nishishinjuku-Gochome station.

Myorang and her hubby are lovely and considerate hosts. Her hubby picked us at Hilton hotel to bring us to their place. Despite that we were late for an hour due to the traffic conditions from the airport, he welcomed warmly with a smile. The room is spacious, clean and neat with all the essentials. Myorang was thoughtful to leave us tidbits, cup noodles and bottled water. They recommended and shown us how to get to the places of interests such as Tokyo sky tree, temple, etc. It has been a wonderful experience staying with them and we will be back for a longer visit the next time round. Kudos to Myorang and her hubby for making our stay in Shinjuku a wonderful, smooth and warm experience!

韓国風の異国情緒漂う部屋で、海外旅行で味がある韓国の素朴なホテルに泊まっているような気分でした。部屋がきれいなのはもちろん、すわりごこちのよい椅子や、お手拭きまで用意してくださりました。都庁が近く、眺めながら歩いていたらホスト宅に着く前から観光気分になれました!細かいところにとても気を使って下さり、行く前から帰ったあとまでとても温かい気持ちになりました。本当に素敵なホスト様でした。ありがとうございました。機会があればまたぜひ泊まりたいです。

Myorang was an excellent host, and the apartment was amazing, it really made us feel at home. It was large by Tokyo standards, with two beds in one room and one bed in the living room. Bathroom (and everything else) was very clean and well supplied with toiletries, towels, hair dryer, etc. Myorang and her husband run the restaurant next door and live in the same complex so they are easy to contact. She also went above and beyond what we expect from our hosts, leaving us drinks, cool towels and ice-gel packs (Tokyo was very hot and humid), as well as some delicious watermelon. AC and hot water worked well; there was also a washing machine and TV but we didn't use these. Overall I would really recommend this place; it felt like an oasis at the end of each day.

空间还蛮大的,床非常舒服。隔壁就是房东的烤肉店,我们最后一天退房后把行李放那里,晚上拿行李的时候顺便吃了一顿烤肉还不错。离新宿商圈走路要15-20分钟,离最近的地铁站大江户线都**站(忘了名字)走路6、7分钟吧。我们之前以为新宿站最近,拖着行李走了好久才到,后来发现其实新宿的下一个站都**才是最近的地铁站。房东人非常好!值得一住!

Our stay in Shinjuku was amazing! MyoRang gave us directions on how to reach a hotel from the airport where she met us and walked us back to our apartment. She was incredibly sweet and accomodating! She brought us over a small bag of milk and food upon our arrival which was much appreciated after such a long flight. The apartment is in a great location for walking to delicious restaurants and many sights. She kept in touch during our stay bringing us snacks and asking how our stay was going. Would highly recommend staying here for anyone wishing to visit Tokyo/Shinjuku :)

Myorang was right there to greet us as we arrived, and shortly showed me the way to the closest shops. Had no problem finding it using Gps maps on the phone. They provided some refreshing juice for our arrival.

My partner and I stayed at this apartment for 8 nights and loved it! It was in a very convenient location right near the station and a short walk to lots of restaurants. It was very clean and neat when we arrived and had enough space for the two of us.

Fairly clean apartment and affordable apartment not too far from the subway station with some food nearby. Ichhy was good at communicating and the information he sent on location and key pickup was clear. Pocket Wifi was very reliable and useful, not to be overlooked! Next time I would stay a bit closer to the JR station so as to not have to catch the subway just one station every time. If you don't mind the walk / catching the sub-way, it is a fairly clean place for an affordable price.

Pros: The location is in a great place. Very close to restaurants and convenient stores. Close to the train station as well. It's a cute small place with a closet and drawer to put away your things. If you cannot read Japanese, there are instructions in English. It's pretty quiet for a place that was built a long time ago. The washing machine is nice. Cons: The toilet is old fashion and noisy when flushed. The freezer in the fridge doesn't get cold enough to store things like ice cream. The pocket Wi-Fi is good for when you are outside, but don't bother bringing a laptop to stream movies and games. It becomes very slow, even after you reset the data. The bed is very hard, and you can feel the springs on your back. The sheets cling to everything, so expect fuzz from your clothes and hair to become stuck to it.

We enjoyed staying at this apartment in Shinjuku. Location was good, we found it pretty easily and it's not too far from the main part of Shinjuku. Gyoen park is nearby also. Ichhy was always quick to reply and help with anything we needed. Portable wifi was very handy to have around Tokyo.

Girlfriend and I stayed for just under 2 weeks at Ichhy's apartment. --- Apartment looked as shown in the pictures. There was just enough room for the two of us and our luggage, Japanese apartments are relatively small so this is/was to be expected. We had one large luggage fully open all times and another closed and only opened when needed along with another smaller carry on luggage closed laying on the floor. --- Location was good, distant noise of sirens at night from ambulances/police but definitely not a big deal. One thing worth mentioning is that the apartment is 3 minutes from an ENTRANCE to Shinjuku Sanchome station but from there there is probably a 300-450m straight walk to the actual platform (this probably made the actual walk to a platform around 10 minutes). Very easy to get to major tourist locations from Shinjuku Sanchome (especially since its one stop from Shinjuku Station; ~1min subway ride) --- Apartment came with a wifi egg that was usable everywhere we went and was especially handy to find out what trains to take. Unfortunately the internet is capped to 1GB/day and resets at 6am in the morning. This was definitely not enough data for us and would have preferred something more so we could browse the internet in our downtime in the apartment (Once you have used your daily cap it would often not load Instagram pictures). --- Ichhy was quite responsive to our queries, always responding within 24Hrs and was as helpful as he possibly could be. --- Overall, quite a nice stay. Would recommend getting your own wifi device and take into consideration it is a 3minute walk to the station tunnel entrance but a 10minute walk to the nearest plateform (Marunouchi line)

Ichhy was very helpful with our trip and everything went to plan. It took a little while to find the apartment after our late flight but once we had arrived it turned out to be a very convenient and easy to find location. It just takes a while to familiarise yourself with the Japanese address system. Everything was as described in the picture and the room was just big enough for the two of us. Even though it was in bustling Shinjuku it was quiet when it was time to sleep.

Miharu has a beautiful apartment and provided a detailed instructional book with a welcome note and little gifts. Everything was perfect. Wifi worked well for us especially for traveling around. There's many convenient stores around and even a meat market open 24 hours (they sell everything else like a regular market too). Very close walking to the station. I hope we can come back!

這個房子很漂亮很舒服,2個人住的話空間很大。位置都很好在很靜的住宅區,大街上都有超市藥妝店和24小時的餐廳。還有host他們人都很好,會馬上解答你的問題。

非常温馨的房子,一室一厅,厕所和浴室是独立开的,还有专门的换衣间,生活起来很方便,从车站步行五分钟以内,距离新宿坐车也只要五分钟。 离房子很近的一个路口有一家店叫做“肉のハナマサ”,可以买到又好吃又便宜的水果蔬菜肉。房主留了一些基本的调味料在屋里,还有锅子,所以我们做了几次饭,像在家里一样呢٩(ัั⁎) 当然附近还有很多吃饭的店,各种风格都有。 唯一觉得要改进的就是客厅的吊灯,虽然很好看,但因为挂的太低,所以真的很容易撞头。。。 下次再来东京还是会住这里(笑)

Miharus appartpent is very well kept and clean. Really nice to have a folder that explained everything about the appartment and surronding areas. Area: close to the metro line. Downside was the road close to the house. Noisy during night time. Appartment: Clean and really niced, since it is small 4 persons would be the max for a convienient living. Portable wifi perfect allthough speed was really low. Host: We had all the support that was needed, Miharu answered mails and sms really quick. Would I stay again Yes.

It is a very lovely place but two lamps in the living room were so low that my friend and I was hit by them multiple times. Regardless of the low-speed internet (it was ok for messaging app), the room was perfect like acceptable walking distance, convenience stores, restaurants etc. Additionally, the owner was always caring. Great value!! ＼(^o^)/

Miharu's apartment was super cool, all equipped for living and place was very clean, relaxing atmosphere that you can really rest yourself after long day of tourism. There were minimum pantry available so that i was able to cook something if i wanted. I love the house and neighbor has full of restaurants and transportation accessibility was excellent. Can't find this quality with this location and price. Would like to come back definitely.

Yasuyuki-san was an excellent host. He was kind enough to meet me at the nearest station and helped me with my luggage. This room is part of a 2-bedroom apartment and is totally private. The apartment is on the 4th floor, and an elevator is available to access it. Important to note is that this apartment has a large patio area complete with a weightlifting bench. Outside of the house there is an excellent coffee shop that serves breakfast. Also, there are many restaurants and grocery stores available. Yasuyuki is a great roommate and a very kind person. I recommend this listing highly.

Our stay with Yasuyuki san was very pleasant! His place was clean and near to the train station; it only entailed a few minutes walk in a very nice small neighbourhood with plenty of places to eat and drink. Our host was very helpful, and during the last day I forgot my charger and he let me know this. He helpfully offered to meet us in Shinjuku station to give it back to us. He was very nice and helpful and we enjoyed our stay in Tokyo!

The location was extremely convenient, quick and easy to get into town, and the walk to the station is along a lovely street with many interesting shops. Yasuyuki and I both had busy schedules, but I was lucky enough to share a beer and a brief chat with him, and he is a wonderful host. I hope next time I'm in Tokyo we get a chance to chat some more! Yasuyuki-san was a great host. accomodating and even he came to greet me at the train station. the area is a bit homely but the noise from the busy street below might get to some people. the room is filled with a library of comics, a gym outside your window and a nice top view of the city!

This Airbnb was great. Nicely decorated and very clean. Emil and Chihiro were very nice and helpful. There was complementary coffee and tea which was a nice touch! Quiet neighborhood and about a 15 minute walk to the train station. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Tokyo!

Funkypad is an apt name. It's a 2 story, very open, vertical space, divided into sleeping lofts, and floors with sofa beds. The neighbourhood is wonderfully quiet, and located very close to train stations, including the Keisei Line from Narita airport. On the ground level is an entrance room with a sofa bed, and access to the first loft with a ladder. It also has the bathroom, laundry and shower. The second level, up a small flight of stairs has a kitchen, dining table, TV and another sofa bed, as well as another ladder to a large loft with additional sleeping mats. Overall, it was unique, bright, open, immaculately clean, and definitely funky! Emil himself was a great host, working with me to make my first AirBnB experience very positive. Before I left on my trip he worked with me to make sure I could connect to the smartlock in the apartment, and allowing some of our party to check-in unexpectedly early. He recommended we check out a small cafe around the corner, "LC Kitchen/Lunch Cafe", and we were not disappointed. If you stay at the Funkypad, this place is a must! The proprietors do not speak much English, but prepared some amazing meals, and were very welcoming and fun. Overall, our experience at FunkyPad was extremely positive, and I easily recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo.

Emil and Chihiro really went to amazing lengths to create a place that is truly deserving of the title "funky pad". Not only that, they were extremely communicative and eager to answer any questions we had. They meticulously have taken care of so many amenities that it would be nigh impossible to list it all in the space alloted for reviews. Simply put, it was a very livable place with all of the nicities of home, and then more. I particularily enjoyed the fact that you could draw and schedule bath from the control panel. While you aren't exploring the quaint neighborhood, it's a very easy journey to Ueno, taking around only 30 minutes tops if you are familiar with Japan's transportation services. The only forseeable con of the funky pad is the rather steep staircases/ladders and sheer faces, which might not be best for the young or elderly. Being that my review has been a bit of a mess, I'll list off the main points below. -Communicative, attentive, and kind hosts -Amenities aplenty -Half an hour from Ueno -Cute neighborhood -Unforgettable experience We look forward to staying with them again in the future(URL HIDDEN)
