Again, we're happy to send you one out through USPS for free, or if you want a tracking# you can pay for the shipping.

You guys screwed the part up, not me. Refund my shipping from the first time when I paid and got a defective piece a few months later, then I'll pay for shipping so I can get a tracking number. I'm dumbfounded how a company can make something, have it end up being defect. and not even have the decency to be like "sorry you were breathing in our anodizing materials after only 3 months here's a new stem with it's tracking number. That just shows how important your customers are. Like I said before, if your equip is so tough this probably doesn't happen very often and shouldn't be a big deal. So just own up to making or preparing the part wrong and send me a new one in a way that it can be tracked like when I paid for it the first time. I'm not asking for next day air or anything, just a # so it does get lost or stolen. Also it would be nice to get a response to my emails, it's been 6 days.

Speaking as a jet owner and ALSO someone who worked around anodize for years... jet is most likely right. In terms of never seeing anodized flake like that.

Anodized has much to do with surface prep of material. if the substrate under the Anodized isn't properly cleaned or there is change in grades of aluminum or bad tanks or dye baths, something like this could happen

Remember sun fades Anodize, and if you clean your jet a lot, the taking on and off eventually would show wear. But given that it's into a plastic base, it makes me wonder...

Really would need to know what you use to clean, from solution to brushes.

Odd thing is is that Anodized usually doesn't flake. Anodizing sort of opens the surface of the aluminum (think a box of straws with the tops pinched. - after Anodized these holes are open and will take on dye etc, then when you seal the Anodized you sort of pinch the tops off again ).

The anodize, long story short, and quality thereof, is really owed to the vendor jet uses to get their stuff anodized. If it's flaking, they definitely need to get in touch with the finishing house doing the processing.

But good on jet for replacing. I'd pay 15 bucks for them to ship me a brand new part that costs much more. They ain't amazon and can't accumulate costs like that and keep prices low.

Either way, if I ran the jet company, I'd be getting much more involved with the finishing shop if this problem continued and also ask you more about your cleaning methods.

I just paid for shipping on that piece in January and it didn't even last 3 months before it started falling apart. That picture is 6 months later. 350 Dollars worth of merchandise and products from Jet and all I'm asking is that my stem be sent with a tracking number so it doesn't get lost. I'm not asking for next day air or hand delivery. I just think that if a company brags about how tough their sh*t is it should hold up longer than a few months. If it doesn't, send them a new one or quit bragging. EVERYBODY LISTEN, I WOULD HAVE PAID FOR SHIPPING(money is not the issue) IF IT HADN'T STARTED FALLING APART AFTER A FEW MONTHS, BUT I HAD JUST GOT DONE PAYING FOR SHIPPING ON THE DEFECTIVE PART.
