About this project
"I know words," bragged Donald Trump. Well, so do we, from A to Z.
B is for a bully and a bigot. N is for narcissism. X is for xenophobia. All the best words can be found in D is for DUMP TRUMP: An Anti-Hate Alphabet—26 poems and 20 original editorial cartoons about this detestable candidate. As you roam the alphabet, you'll laugh, you'll sigh, and if you're as horrified by Trump as we are, you'll want to spread the word.
Why this book?
Because you can’t stop a demagogue by rolling your eyes; you have to roll up your sleeves. Because a powerful way to spread the word and paint a full picture of the situation… is through words and pictures. Because comedy can be cathartic and poetry can be profound. Because there is strength in fearlessness. And because November 8 is looming.
Who are we?
Brad and Amy Herzog, husband and wife, author and illustrator, publishers of Why Not Books, a little company devoted to inspiring action through quality literature. Brad’s work includes a series of children’s alphabet books and a trilogy of U.S. travel memoirs. Amy’s artwork is inspired by the things she loves—or, in this case, a hate-fueled movement that she loathes.
Why Kickstarter?
We received wonderful feedback from friends ("Brilliant! I love it!") about a print-on-demand version of D is for Dump Trump, but we have much bigger goals. We hope to increase the book's size, offer an all-platform digital version, and, most importantly, print enough books to make our little project available to the masses. And while we’re not allowed to donate Kickstarter funds to charity, we plan to give $1 from each sale thereafter to the anti-hate Southern Poverty Law Center. So what we’re offering is this: Witty and wise verses and visuals, some laughs, an excellent way to spread the word, and some good karma.
What will the book look like?
A 42-page softcover book measuring 8.5'' by 8.5'' and consisting of 20 color illustrations and 1,500 words in rhyme (see sample spreads after the backer rewards below).

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge is also our greatest motivation -- the fact that the Trump phenomenon is happening RIGHT NOW. But if we are fully funded, we can distribute the book nationally in the three months leading up to the election.
