On Tuesday night, presumptive GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump took his campaign rhetoric to a new level: He praised the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

"Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, right? He was a bad guy, a really bad guy," Trump said to a rally audience collected inside Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh, North Carolina. "But you know what he did well? He killed terrorists."

Donald Trump is praising, at length, Saddam Hussein's anti-terrorism policies.

Further, Trump also referred to Iraq as "Harvard for terrorism."

This isn't the first time Trump has praised Hussein. As Daily Beast reporter Gideon Resnick noted on Twitter, back in February, the presumptive GOP nominee said, "But one thing about him: He killed terrorists. ... Saddam Hussein understood and he killed terrorists."

Twitter users were quick  to react to Trump's latest controversial remark:

Trump now literally praises Saddam Hussein and I am using literally literally.

Pretty sure Trump just announced Saddam Hussein as his VP pick.

I don't want a President who considers Vladimir Putin and Saddam Hussein role models.

Say what you will about Trump praising Saddam Hussein, but at least he finally found a Muslim he likes.

In addition to the terrorists Hussein killed "well," according to ABC News, there is no way to determine the exact number of deaths the dictator directly or indirectly caused. Some estimates, however, range upwards to 500,000 people.
