Very different sports. Basketball only has 5 guys on the floor and most offenses rely on a few guys to get the points.

Football is played on a bigger pitch with more players and is much harder for 1 individual to influence a game (for all the praise Messi and Ronaldo get neither have been able to lift their national teams) .

TLDR : 1 player has a much bigger influence in basketball than football.
