I got hit by a train on the underground railroad and now I have to eat through a straw. Thanks SJWs.

you know what they say about people who are getting a second PhD? That they fucked up their first one.

2 PhDs, logic, stem, anti MRA rally's, no photos. This has redditor.com written all over it. I almost wonder if I'm being trolled.

That is certainly a more welcome explanation than the possibility that there exist real people like this

I hope this is a troll, but if not, and this dude happens to live in or around Princeton, I know exactly who he is. He (actually getting his second PhD) been posting shit like this on Facebook unrelentingly since he was dumped by his fiancee and I am afraid of him.

Did he go to the hospital after the spine incident that definitely happened?

Like what/how in the fuck? Also I won't post pictures of myself online because I might lose my job ? Btw don't ask me about my job. Like what fucking job is going to fire you for having pictures of yourself online in 2016 unless they're pics of you burning down buildings or murdering children

I've heard shit about teachers not being Disney princesses and being fired for it.

This meaning like beach bikini pics on instagram.

Also this was reported for not blurring which is kinda hilarious in context.

Yeah, I heard that too. Also, pics of drinking alcohol on social media.

Yea its like they're not allowed to be adults because their job involves kids. Can the parents who do this not look at their own home and remember dad responsibly has a beer or two when bbqing chicken every Saturday? It's insane.

Hes one giant pile of diarrhea.

"There's no wage gap, but it's 14%"

only 14%

[–]ciderczarI'm Six Foot Two and

"So what are you bitches even complaining about. God."

[–]Zeldanotazoehttp://imgur.com/LhkisYe[S] 17

Lmao right? Fucking hilarious

[–]Throwawayingaccount28/m/GA 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

The 14% is the earnings gap.

Let me explain the difference. If you were to add up all the income by all females, and divide it by hours worked, and compare it to the same value for males, you get the earnings gap, which he claims is around 14%. (I generally hear it's about 23% in the US)

If you were to take a job type, and add all the income by all females in that job type, divided by the hours worked, and compare it to the same stat from males, and THEN average together all of the jobs, you get the wage gap, which is about 2-3%

So basically, when you account for the TYPE of work performed, the gap shrinks significantly.

[–]gjallerhorn27/M/Little Rock 8ポイント9ポイント  (12子コメント)

What he said wasn't contradictory. Lifetime earnings difference =/= wage difference. Time off for child rearing is the most likely contributor to that kind of gap.

[–]gonecrazy_backsoon 21ポイント22ポイント  (8子コメント)

Econ 400 here and if you remove all the reproducing women out of the equation the wage gap still remains. Single male no children, university educated would make significantly more than his equal female counterpart.

Could you link me to a source? Last I read it was actually the other way around:

"...in 147 out of 150 of the biggest cities in the U.S., the median full-time salaries of young women are 8% higher than those of the guys in their peer group. In two cities, Atlanta and Memphis, those women are making about 20% more. This squares with earlier research from Queens College, New York, that had suggested that this was happening in major metropolises. But the new study suggests that the gap is bigger than previously thought, with young women in New York City, Los Angeles and San Diego making 17%, 12% and 15% more than their male peers, respectively. And it also holds true even in reasonably small areas like the Raleigh-Durham region and Charlotte in North Carolina (both 14% more), and Jacksonville, Fla. (6%)"

The western world is geared for women IMO from kindergarten to post-college. All you hear about is this wage gap thing which a dubious claim with obvious confounding social factors, but if you look around, you see women just doing better. Women are better employed, have more degrees. The educational and corporate culture are designed in such a way to make women excel better, and there are way less blue collar jobs than there used to be. I don't think western women have much to complain about, but western men certainly do.

[–]gjallerhorn27/M/Little Rock 3ポイント4ポイント  (1子コメント)

I've been hearing that there are more university educated females than men in these recent classes, and this they're earning more to start off with

[–]gonecrazy_backsoon 1ポイント2ポイント  (0子コメント)

[Even though women are more likely than men to go to college or university, they do not necessarily end up with higher employment earnings than men when they enter the job market. In 2005, young women aged 25 to 29 with full-year, full-time work were earning 85 cents for each dollar earned by their male counterparts](www.statcan.gc.ca/pub/89-503-x/2010001/article/11542-eng.htm)

[–]glassusermarried and off the market - 37/M/Houston

No, there's not. Correct for choice of profession and time spent in career and it disappears.

a) no, it doesn't. It diminishes to the single percentages, but remains.

b) have you considered that the facts that women tend to choose lower-paid professions and are expected to spend more time homemaking and caring for family members even when they do work might be connected to sexism as well?

I mean, this isn't a debate. These are notions accepted by 99% of the economic profession (i.e. functionally everyone).

I wouldn't call them anti-mra rallies, but I think the guy in the OP is a follower of pro-rape monster Roosh Valizadeh. Earlier this year, Roosh was planning to host some event in Chicago, and a whole lot of people (myself included) were planning to 'actively' protest the event. Roosh ended up canceling the event in Chicago, but maybe an event somewhere else resulted in some real violence?

Well, to be honest, I'd actually believe him. Unfortunately there have been many feminists who do behave violently and generally like douchebags.

That doesn't mean feminism is bad; actually I think feminism is very good. But we have to remember that every group has its nutbags.

Also, is it normal to downvote all of the people saying there is no wage gap with sources in their comment and upvote all of the ones saying there is with no proof? Because I see a lot of that happening in here.

This thread is a fucking shitshow. "LEL I'd like to attend an anti-MRA rally xD" Fucking stupid.

Almost all the feminists I've ever met lately are sexist hypocrites. It's a mess of a movement, and I can't stand it anymore.

God forbid you point out any inconsistency in the things they say, because that just automatically makes you a pig.

They seem more intent on double standards rather than equality. I've not once seen a feminist talk about the systems that favor women over men. (Especially with family courts/marriage/children)

You're not a champion of equality if you don't actually fight for both sides. Speaking about equality isn't enough if you're only focusing on one half of two sides.

I prefer Humanitarians, any-day-of-the-week. Even the term sounds better.

[–]GGProfessor24 / M / Bay Area, CA 2

I've always hated the feminist vs. MRA shit. If either of them genuinely cared about what they say they do they'd actually both be on the same side. Instead it seems like so much as pointing out "men are advantaged in some ways, and women are advantaged in others," pisses off both sides, for some reason.

Women are employed better...IMO that trumps everything. It shows that our society as currently constructed is favorable to that gender. It's designed to allow that gender to succeed. In situations where women get paid less for equal work, part of it is hormonal, and part of it is cultural. We need to remove from society the notion that a pushy man is ambitious and a pushy woman is a bitch. I just think it's quite clear that the feminist movement is disproportional to the current climate to say the least.
