Detroit. Chicago. Baltimore.

All firmly Democrat cities.

  • Detroit in ruins. Unchecked corruption and cronyism for decades.

  • Chicago is the gun-free shooting capital of the US (kek) that is bribing tax payers and business to stay by any means necessary. Unchecked corruption and cronyism since the dawn of time.

  • Baltimore is murder and riot central, often spurred on by political officials. Unchecked corruption and cronyism.

Cities under Democrat control that are in or near a state of ruin. Yet somehow it is the white Christian's fault, or the NRA, or who the hell ever ... Not corrupt, cronyism politics of Democrats that take power by any means necessary. Never the Democrats. Engage identity politics, and stay in power.

By the way, to be fair those images of Detroit are in no small part due to (((free))) trade that the uniparty in DC pushed on America. Republicans are guilty, too. There's no such thing as free trade. Someone is making money, and someone else is not. Trading freely yet fairly is an altogether different issue.

While this is true, you also have a "democrat" run California that's sixth biggest economy in the world. The focus should't be the fake left right paradigm, but real issues.

In short, no side is perfect, but the true liberals really need to purge regressive scourge from their ranks.

That "6th biggest economy" is such a misleading thing to say. Its because of all the IT firms are there and most of their value is in their brand names and so on. There's isn't that much of ACTUALLY valuable stuff in there.

And all those huge Tech companies are a genius creating something better away from total ruin.

There's only room for one California. Can't really duplicate that success story without damaging it.

Well it's not like every state run by democrats is like Detroit either, quite the opposite. Although with theirs immigration plans...

I thought about San Francisco, et al, after my original comment. Any argument would delve into semantics, which I think would be useless. While I believe leftist policies generally lead to the outlined examples, I do concede your point.

You forgot St. Louis, Gary, Oakland, and Camden as other culturally enriched paradises.

Decades of Democrat control does that to cities!

I think those pictures of Detroit have more to do with the negative effects of globalization than it has to do with any specific political party in power. Look, no matter what your party affiliation or political views are, you can't deny that whether there was a Democrat or Republican in power, the abandonment of Detroit was a long time coming. After GM moved its jobs to cheaper foreign labor, the middle class left the city.

It does have to do with the party. Having a child outside of marriage is one of the greatest predictors of poverty and being on welfare, and a child with a single mother is six times more likely to live in poverty than one born to married parents. Guess who destroyed the African American family unit in the last 50 years through welfare programs that encourage single motherhood, and destroyed the familiy culture through their social engineering and backwards "progressive" agenda? Democrats. Guess who is letting the drug cartels and heroin gangs that terrorize the streets? Democrats. Guess who is demonizing police and preventing them from doing their jobs, making these places less safe? Black Lives Matter and the Democratic party. Guess who keeps raising the minimum wage in these places so that low-skilled workers can't get jobs? Democrats. Why is it so hard for small businesses to operate in these places due to insane regulations and a marginal tax rate of > 45%, while the corporate tax rate in this country is 35%? Democrats. The last GOP mayor of Detroit left in the 1970s.

Sure, NAFTA was the Dr. Kevorkian euthanasia to Detroit.

If Detroit hadn't taxed their corporations to shit or regulated them out of profitability, they wouldn't have any reason to move elsewhere.

The UK is talking about cutting its corporate taxes post EU. That's how you retain companies in a world with air travel and internet.
