I'd imagine aerobreaking at a planet like Jupiter is an extremely risky thing to do, given its gravity and such. I also imagine that Juno is nowhere near formidable as the Leonov. (Internet points for anyone who gets that reference)

Not sure why you'd be quick to judge JunoCam, based on a pic of Jupiter taken from a significant distance. JunoCam's amazing pictures during the spacecraft's flyby of Earth are certainly pretty.

This is True. Scott Bolton, the principal investigator of Juno, made the short film in collaboration with Apple Music. They did the short film, while Reznor and Ross did the music.

I'm not sure that they are; I'm definitely not aware of such a set being marketed.

It's approaching in a polar trajectory, but it isn't coming directly from the top. It's approaching Jupiter from it's side, but above the ecliptic. Here's the current view of the Jupiter system from Juno as rendered in Eyes on the Solar System, as reference.

It is actually one of the central goals of the Juno mission! Juno's name itself is a reference to the mythological Juno, and how she unraveled the secrets of her husband, Jupiter. The Juno spacecraft will peer beneath the clouds using data collected from the inner magnetosphere, including the nature and dynamics of auroral particles among other things. Studying the magnetic field of Jupiter will help better understand Jupiter's interior, and whether or not it has a solid core, and if so, whether its a rocky or metallic core. The Southwest Research Institute has an interactive page on their Juno website all about it, which you can find here!
