Ivanka Trump: My dad is 'a feminist’

The presumptive Republican nominee’s daughter, Ivanka, told the Sunday Times of London that her father’s support of feminism is “a big reason I am the woman I am today.” 

“My father is a feminist,” the executive vice president of Trump Organization said. “He always told me and showed me that I could do anything I set my mind to if I married vision and passion with work ethic. He’s surrounded me with strong female role models who have done just that since I was a little girl.”

The billionaire real estate mogul has frequently been criticized for his treatment of and comments about women — from Fox News host Megyn Kelly to Ted CruzTed CruzTrump rivals divided over attending convention Ivanka Trump: My dad is 'a feminist’ Lewandowski: Pence's selection could help unite GOP MORE’s wife, Heidi — throughout his presidential campaign. And a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 77 percent of women have an unfavorable view of Trump. 

But Ivanka Trump insists that her dad supports gender equality. 

“He has lived it, he has employed women at the highest levels of the Trump Organization for decades, so I think it’s a great testament to how capable he thinks women are and has shown that his whole life,” she said.
