What do you guys think anout #10 Mata? (self.reddevils)

So it seems like the general consensus is that Mata will be leaving. However, it feels like him in the #10 may work out. Yes he has lacks pace and physicality, but that's not what a no10 needs but has the creativity that a no10 needs to have. What do you guys think?

He gets played out wide because he is effectively in the opposing dm's pocket. Silva gets kicked around a lot, he still shields the ball way better and makes clever passes just like Ozil does. Mata is just not on that level.

Being that small and slow is not helpful. Sure his passes are nice but the fact he simply can't round a player or physically hold up the ball nullifies a great deal of his skill IMO. He'll be sold.

He's going to get written off, With Mkhitaryan there it means he's definitely not playing RW anymore (praise the lord).

I still think he's better than Rooney as a CAM. And he's tidy on the ball and got good chemistry with Martial and Herrera when he's there, I wouldn't write him off just yet. He's been involved in more goals in the 2 years he's been here than any other player.

In the past 2 years he's been looked upto more as a star, Matas always been better in a more subdued dictator type role like under Di Matteo at Chelsea where he receives the ball alot, with Mkhitaryan work rate he should have more space to operate now and not rely on Martials pace on the left when he's closed down. I don't think he'll go this summer. But he has to have a good year this year.

With Zlatan and Martial going forward he's got the personnel now. It's upto him to step up.
