Silly season has returned for the 4th summer on /r/reddevils!

Most of you know the drill.

For those who don't...From today until the window closes, a transfer round-up & discussion thread will be made every day. In these threads, ANYTHING can be talked about. Any player, in or out, any transfer fee, anything!

Now, with these threads starting, this means that rumours submitted as separate posts will be removed unless they are from reliable sources!

I think we should stop dreaming. Zlatan and mkhi are awesome transfers, along with Bailly and I think it will set a good foundation for the future. Pogba would obv be a fantastic bonus and if Ounas or the Mexican dude are signed, then it would be a fantastic window.

As amazing as it would be - realistically Pogba's probably eyeing a move to La Liga, what with Zidane courting him and everything. We can't even offer UCL football at the moment. But I think this could still be good news - if Pogba ends up at Real, surely that increases our chances of landing James? unless Real offer him up to Juve in exchange for a lower transfer fee. I think a midfield in what would presumably be a 4 3 3 with Rooney, Carrick, and James along with Schweiny and Schneiderlin at our disposal would still be a massive upgrade. who knows maybe Jose even manages to bring in Matic ;)

I'm definitely ready for the season but in a way I quite enjoy silly season. The anticipation of the new season and new players always makes me wish it away but the transfer season is a roller coaster and actually a fairly fun time to follow the club.

Definitely been a few roller coaster windows the last few seasons, add a top CM this summer & this will surely have to be up there with our best transfer windows ever, possibly THE best depending on how well it comes together.

I'd imagine they'll give a little bit more time for the Zlatan news to blow over before announcing Miki. Don't think everything's completely wrapped up yet anyway but they'll probably wait at least a day or two to allow for the spotlight to be fully on Miki when his time arrives.

I don't think any source has said that. Di Marzio has said the fee was €32m up front with €8m performance related bonuses while the BBC said it was £30m total.
