We're also looking at the German side of things, which, unfortunately, since the mentality that Germany "lost" a war with far less casualties than the Allies and thus, deserves to be stomped repeatedly (figuratively) for their misdoings is the current, reigning mentality, there's very little we'll actually hear about their systems, namely tanks.

Why? Because concentration camp drama sells a whole lot more than the blueprints and hundreds if not thousands of reports stolen by the Allies. The same applies to the gulags, which everyone is so fond of forgetting all about, considering much more people died in soviet gulags than in concentration camps throughout the war.

TL;DR

I agree with you. Today's perception of WWII is much different than it was at the time and, in fact, may be tainted by the outcome of the war. I'm absolutely certain the "winning" countries still see it as a win despite having exponentially more casualties than the "losing" countries. Though backwarded, the evidence is present every year when Russia insists on parading its troops on the red square in celebration of the day their "Patriotic War" ended.

Bunch of propaganda bollocks that's brainwashed countless generations, is what that all is. Don't think the US any greater, either. Though it may not be celebrated there, it certainly lived on in the "USA RULEZ" mentality seen today, still.

Because they did lose.

The outcome of a war isn't decided by K/D ratio.

Who is fond of forgetting the gulags? Reading about the Gulags is mandatory in Russian schools, and the US definitely hasn't forgotten.

Not even close. Around 2 Million people died in the Gulags over the entire history of the Soviet Union. Nazi Germany killed 11 Million, in just a few years.

Yeah seriously. Thought I was on a WWII youtube video given the insanity of Subscyed's comments. "Concentration camp drama", Jesus Christ I was expecting holocaust denial to follow that line. Putting quotation lines on lost when referring to Germany. You don't get much more defeated then Germany short of having genocide inflicted on you after the fact.
