Get another proven striker? (self.reddevils)

Along with Zlatan we should get another proven striker yo give martial and rashford a season of less pressure.

But on the other hand we would have less games too. ( don't think Jose will go for europa)

I think with Rooney moving more into midfield, another proven striker maybe isn't the worst idea. At worst he could play behind, say, Zlatan and Martial. SAF always said you should have 4 world class strikers on your team.

SAF played 442 with 2 strikers. Mourinho has played with 1 striker for his entire career. You can't have 4 world class strikers for 1 position

Can I have a source on SAF saying that? We only play with 1 striker, you simply can't have 3 world class strikers on the bench. It doesn't work like that, no team has 4 world class strikers.

Everything points to one striker formations though, so there's not enough room, and big money signings won't want to be super subs...

Ibra will most likely be the starting forward, with Rashford/Martial rotating... Depending who performs during pre season, we could see youth call ups or other current squad members tested in different positions (Memphis up front as an example)

I feel the team as a whole will be contributing more this season, assuming they all gel and we see some nice football. Hopefully it won't be a one man job to bag all the goals!

In emergency situations when all of them are unavailable we have Rooney.

I think the system we have now is perfect. Ibrahimovic will start and Rashford can start in the not so important games (easy cup games, easy europa league games) and he can be a super sub for us, putting him against tired legs will be very useful. If both of them get injured we still have Rooney, Martial and potentially Memphis who can all play striker.

Getting another striker who is already proven and ok with sitting on the bench is not going to be cheap and easy.

Why do you think he won't try in Europa? Don't give me the old quote about losers, that was mind games. Do you actually think he will dump those games, with a high quality young squad to sub?
