How's this: no one needs your password to mess up your forum account.

I would like to recommend two-factor authentication. Change your password, turn it on, use it.

I would like some kind of two-factor authentication for logging into the game, as well. A keyfob would be nice.

 

I propose the same as I said before. They need to link the Steam and MO launcher to the Mortal Online website then authenticate and website open the MO client.

 

I believe all this is, is account sharing gone wrong.

 

Then consider yourself woefully uninformed.

I've never shared any of my accounts with anybody during my years playing this game, and my account was hacked nonetheless. Choosing not to share accounts won't save you.

 

And I have once, but I have not been hacked.

Your account name is pretty obvious though. Like I said in the other post. If your account name is related to your "political/game identity" then you're an easy target.

Honestly he probably was like ctrl-f "godly" and found it.

 

That's quite an assumption you've made. My in-game account name is not related to my forum name or MO identity at all. It's quite random, really; I don't use it for anything else.

Do believe the big difference here is the format of forums used. I don't know much, and could be COMPLETELY WRONG, but isn't vBulletin a different base (Is that the right word? I'm not sure) than XenForo?
