Transfer Tiers - Final Revision pre-Window (self.reddevils)

Hi all,

As we begin to approach the Window opening, and the obvious arrival of Ibra, Miki, Schnieder, Pogba, Neymar, Morata and my Nan, we're looking to edit the Tier system prior to the inevitable storm.

To keep things clean, I'm going to try an experiment on this post. I will post a comment below for each existing Tier. If you want to see someone that is currently in that tier change (either relegated or promoted) then reply to that comment. If you can supply some form of reasoning that would help, but it's not mandatory. Please try to see if someone else has already made your suggestion before commenting, and simply upvote and reply to them if you agree. If you disagree with the promotion/relegation, then please also do the same. If you think the exact opposite (for example, a relegation, when someone is calling for a promotion) then that's worth a new reply to the Parent comment.

EXAMPLE (underneath the Tier 3 comment):

Ruhr Nachricthen (Germany) - Promote to Tier 2: Increased reliability during the Mhikitaryan

If there is someone entirely missing from the list that needs adding, then start a new comment, with a suggested Tier. It would be helpful to us if you could supply some reasoning to the tier. If you could also let me know which country (and also, in the case of a journalist, which publications they write for currently) that would also help massively too.

I've also added a general chit-chat comment, but I'm not planning to remove other comments yet, though if suggestions wind-up getting drowned out, then I may need to clean this thread up a little, so I've added that in case you fancy a general chat thread that is guaranteed to be safe.

Once we lock this, I intend to add some extra automod changes that will automatically add a Tier value to posts that pop-up in the sub, so people can see the reliability a little easier.

I'll run this particular post during the next few days, and into the start of the window, but will maintain edits on the fly so it's easier.

    i feel Mohamed Boufashi could be moved to Tier 1,he was the first to get (Di Maria,Martial,Ibra) in just under a year.

    I totally agree, he and RMC sport should be promoted to Tier 1, while L'equipe IMO should be demoted to Tier 2.

    Sid Lowe really shouldnt be here.

    He openly hates talking about transfers and summer transfers rumors, hes only been involved in reporting on one transfer and he got completely played by an agent for a story.

    Id argue he shouldn't even be tier 3

    Idk one week they were sure LVG was staying, next week it was Mourinho coming in to take over, then there was some doubts over Mourinho it went on like that for ages, just looked really bad for them I thought was very tabloidy stuff.

    And just a few days ago I think they said Mhkhitaryan was done and now we've submitted a better offer which is too be accepted?

    OK, but so everyone is crystal clear, we would BAN all Sky Sports transfer rumours from being posted, no matter who else is talking about it, and we will strictly enforce this. Normally I'd just roll with people on these suggestions, but this is a pretty popular site, so thought I'd give people a chance to think before acting on it.

    Other and more general news, would still be fine, so I'll have to bypass Sky on any automod rules we make.

    It's pretty rare skysports ever have anything exclusive to them so if there is a rumour it is likely there would be other sources to use.

    Furthermore, skysports is basically turning into a poorly maintained and run news aggregator. They just jump on reports that have been around for a few days and slap a BREAKING headline and a random price tag and then rock with it.

    Genuinely don't think they would be missed.

      I feel like tiers can be too restrictive. For example Di marzio is good with United news. But with some other clubs and leagues (not seria a) he has been shit. So we should take his news on bundesliga/la liga players with a pinch of salt

      I'm on mobile so i cant link much. But in recent times he has said we're in for Matic, Willian and he started the Embolo rumour. All three times pretty much nothing was going on. I know i'll get downvoted since this sub treats him like he can do no wrong though. I'm not saying he's unreliable but just not as reliable as people feel

      Agree with what you're saying. The only reason he gets elevated status here is for 2 major historical reasons:

      1. He was sat in the room with Matteo Darmian as he was signing his United contracts, and tweeted a photo of it before anyone at United had confirmed the deal. That's almost BloodGate level of In the Know.

      2. Since January, he has constantly put his neck out and said that no matter what happened last season, Mourinho was going to be manager. Even when everyone else started to wobble and say United might see LvG's third year out, he made a video staring dead-pan to the camera saying that he knew Mou was coming and that everyone else was wrong. That's pretty ballsy for a journo to do.

      Whose to say we weren't though we don't sign every player we enquire about. It's not like he's said there done deals. I've never seen him go far wrong with our news anyway. Anything he's been persistent about with us has pretty much happened.
