CLAIRSVILLE, OH (WCMH) — Donald Trump wrapped up a day of campaigning with a stop in St. Clairsville, Ohio, near the West Virginia border.

Hundreds of people packed into the gym at Ohio University Eastern to hear Trump speak about issues important to Ohioans. For about an hour, Trump spoke to the crowd, touching on Tuesday’s attacks in Turkey before moving on to immigration.

To chants of “Build that wall!” from the crowd, Trump said, “It’s going to go up. It’s going to go up so fast. It’s going to be as beautiful as a wall can be. It’s going to be a big wall. It’s going to be a wall that works.”

Many in the crowd came from neighboring states and even states as far as Florida to hear Trump speak.

“We supported him in Pennsylvania and we thought maybe we could get a chance to see him,” said Mary Cornell, a supporter from Ohiopyle, Pa., who lined up outside the event hours before it began.

Trump talked about terrorism but focused much of his speech on the economy and jobs.

“We’re going to put our country back to work,” Trump said. “We’re going to get jobs for people that don’t have jobs right now, of which there are many, many millions of people. They don’t have jobs. It’s just like unbelievable what’s happening.”

It was a popular issue with the crowd.

“I like hearing that he’s going to keep the jobs here,” Bob Dettra, a Trump supporter, said.

“We got to put American people first,” said Todd Callahan, another supporter. “We got to keep the jobs here. That’s very important.”
