Names were changed. Also, technically this isn't all the log, but just the "highlights" as such.
Wikkoe: Another thing the report mentioned was how bunkers would raise a white flag in surrender, US soldiers would emerge and try to claim the prisoners, and then the soldiers in the bunkers would spring up again with their machine guns and mow them down. The Nazis were pretty dickish.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Reminds me of the grunts from Halo whom pulls out two grenades and run at me carrying them.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Died many times when I didn't notice.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Wikkoe, I want to point out, unless that was the SS doing that, it was just German soldiers.
Wikkoe: Hahah. Nearly forgot about that.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Not all Germans were nazis. xP
Wikko: You mean the German soldiers who universally had to swear an oath of loyalty not to the state, not to their people, but to Adolf Hitler himself?
Wikkoe: "Not Nazis u guize"
Wehraboo Fuckwit: lol
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Either way, yeah, an underhanded tactic.
Wikkoe: "I swear to God this sacred oath that to the Leader of the German empire and people, Adolf Hitler, supreme commander of the armed forces, I shall render unconditional obedience and that as a brave soldier I shall at all times be prepared to give my life for this oath."
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Guessing there were some German soldiers whom were forced to fight
Wikkoe: Wehrmacht had to take this exact oath.
Wikkoe: Not just the Waffen-SS.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: It only works so long as your enemy has mercy, and that's a quick way to make them not have any.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Omega, that's always the case in a war.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Wasn't Italy an Axis power during WW2?
Wikkoe: Yes it was.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: There's always a group of people who just do the oath since who knows what would happen if they don't.
Wikkoe: Until 1943, where Mussolini was deposed and the nation was effectively split in two.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Italy was, but it defected to the Allies I think when they got pressured. xD
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Yea
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Or became neutral ground.
Wikkoe: German-controlled Salo Republic in the North, and then the Allied controlled half in the South.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): When the Allies took over like half the country?
Wehraboo Fuckwit: I think so, yeah.
Ebin Pop Cultural Reference Idiot: And then voldemort makes you make the unbreakable vow
Ebin Pop Cultural Reference Idiot: and you ar elike
Ebin Pop Cultural Reference Idiot: shit
Tragic Russian Peasant Caught Up In War He Never Wanted: Welp
: Tragic Russian Peasant Caught Up In War He Never Wanted wonders what he has done
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Guessing Italy never made a big impact as only Axis powers I remember was Germany and Japan.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: To be fair, Italy wasn't really...helping a huge amount. They mostly needed tanks imported from Germany to stand a fighting chance.
Wikkoe: I think the delineation between Waffen-SS and everyone else is a bit of a silly thing to make. The Wehrmacht were often not only complicit in their own warcrimes, but assisted the Waffen-SS in their own.
Wikkoe: Provided the ammunition and blocking troops for their massacres, even.
Wehraboo Fuckwit Collaborationist: there were jews i the Wehrmacht
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Italy used mostly Pz. III's as well with a few Pz. IV's. I don't think they recieved any Tiger tanks from Germany and the tanks they did create were pretty bad and useless against other tanks.
Wehraboo Fuckwit Collaborationist: and a few even in the SS
Wikkoe: And? And there were several million jews in mass graves that the Wehrmacht put them in.
Wikkoe: If not directly, then indirectly through their conquests that put these Jews in Nazi hands.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Overall, they were effectively fodder for the Germans rather than a true Axis power. :P
: Tragic Russian Peasant Caught Up In War He Never Wanted: drinks some gin
Wikkoe: Several thousand Jews serving in the Nazi military vs. the several million they killed isn't a convincing argument.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Hmm
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): So Jewish collaborators
Kar 98 confirmed for hitherto unknown time travelling capabilities
@ Wehraboo Fuckwit Collaborationist: the K98 influnced both the springfield and the lee-enfield
Wehraboo Fuckwit: That, combined with the Allies' growing anti-tank power...The Tiger was a amazing tank, but it was still easily taken down by Ally Fireflies.
Wikkoe: how did the kar 98 influence the enfield or the springfield if both were in service since before ww1 and well before the kar 98
MAUS WANK INCOMING ACHTUNG ACHTUNG ALARM
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Yeah, but goddamn just imagine if the Germans managed to field even 25% of the Maus's they had planned.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): They weren't able to?
Wehraboo Fuckwit : 100 of those giant things with near impenetrable armor backed up with Infantry would have led to a longer war for sure.
Wikkoe: Well they fielded 50% of what they did had.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Yeah, they couldn't pass over bridges.
Wikkoe: Granted what they had were two.
Wikkoe: Only it broke down and they had to blow it up.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: The bridges would break under the weight of the Maus's 130 ton mass. :P
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Wikkoe, they didn't even field it.
Wikkoe: Which bodes so very very well for the rest of them, doesn't it? Something that's actually less mechanically reliable than the King Tiger.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Guess Allies would just point and laugh when they see that
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Hahaha, true.
Wikkoe: You couldn't even remove the armored side skirts to fix the treads
Wikkoe: It was shit.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: It was a facinating attempt to me.
Wikkoe: The working Maus prototypes remained at Kummersdorf after being tested at Böblingen. Maus V2 was ordered to Wünsdorf to protect the OKH, probably 205/1 was ordered there, too, as support for the 205/2 if it drove into mud or to help with diving through rivers (where it would have served as generator unit for 205/2). 205/2 ended at the Hindenburgplatz, in front of the bunker Maybach I, where it was destroyed by placing charges in the engine and fighting compartments. Because it had ammunition stowed under the turret, it was damaged more extensively than 205/1, with the turret being more or less intact. Maus V1 did not reach this area
Wikkoe They were fielded, but never in combat.
Wikkoe: They blew them up before the Russians could laugh at them.
Bonus: Muh… Allied Supertanks Wank?
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Such as the Tortoise, which sadly never saw combat.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Check out War Thunders tank tech tree, so many tanks
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Just like the American T95/T28 Super Heavy
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Both of them were bunkers on tracks pretty much. xD
Wehraboo Fuckwit Collaborationist: gonna nap b back later
Wehraboo Fuckwit: However, I think some of the more interesting vehicles came from Germany.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Ok
Wehraboo Fuckwit: Cya. :)
Wikkoe: I forget if it was the Tortoise or the T28, but basically they were intended for the Siegfried Line, which didn't put up anywhere near as much opposition as they thought. It'd be a bit overkill if it was ever fielded.
Neutral Third Party (Possibly A Partisan Terrorist Watch Out For Him): Must admit few German tanks in War Thunder are tough
Wikkoe: They won the war just fine without any exotic super tanks or what have you.
Wehraboo Fuckwit: I think the AT2/7/15 and Tortoise.
Wikkoe: Super weapons are great for modeling companies and videogames, but shit in real life.
