"across the board" means something different to you than it does others

Or just me, because the person has a hate boner for drones.

imagine if I want to warn someone about an active shooter and I post a video

Would the mods shut the post down? Of course not, because this rule is being applied arbitrarily to take down a video the mod doesn't like. If I came up with a case number the mod would find another reason to close the thread down.

It's garbage.

on no level does this make sense

it puts the burden on the victim

there - it's been reported, there is no PPD case number because it's on the river, unlock the post

God forbid I tell a lie to a random person online. Is this a crime? Do you need a case number for this?

I think my least favorite part about it is when the mod claims that it's for some lofty reason when in reality they hate drones and love hobos and stealing bikes and will flip any technicality they can find to remove the video. It makes me sad.

Oh I get it now, you just have a problem with me and you are using some arcane BS rule to get at me. Good job!

I'm not posting a case number, calling the police would invite undue police harassment in my community. Thanks buddy. You won the internet today. Crushing everyone's good times.

xpost from /r/portland

because if you post a video of a crime in /r/portland you need to provide a case number which puts an undue burden on the OP, imagine if there was evidence of an ongoing crime and the /r/portland mods shut it down putting people in danger because there is no case number. Also who is following up with the case numbers? Are they really calling the police and triple checking on this stuff?

The footage kind of speaks for itself, but I'll try to give some context.

This bicycle chop shop flotilla has been growing for more than a year. After doing a fly-through to inspect what new bikes were around I get some activity on the mothership. Not long after, dude pulls out a .22 rifle and begins firing at me. There are many many shots fired in course of the video.

Sorry for the shakiness of the footage, I'm trying to present a moving target.

Note: I know it was a .22 rifle from the characteristic small cartridge sound (heard from quite far away). Also you can have evidence of a single pump, this was no pellet gun.

edit: Someone else can go to the police or river sheriffs or whomever. I hate to say "I'm too busy" when clearly I have time to do this, but I'm too busy to involve myself any further than being the eye in the sky.

edit2: the timestamp on the video is from 1:21pm today

this is a huge undue burden for a video post and you know it

why do I have to call the police? what if I am a member of society that is habitually targeted by the police? put me in danger so you can flex your mod powers, it's wrong

Portland 内の [deleted] によるリンク So I just called the PPB to report a bum camping on my private property and was told, "We are not going to send an officer out today, or anytime soon for a Camping Situation, unless there is clear evidence that the homeless person is being felonious".

I would only charge $100 per site for ~10 minutes of uncut video evidence taken by drone (~3GB, 1080p 60fps mp4).

If you think there is a good time I could catch them, let's work something out.
