Mohammad was a cancer for Islam. Specifically before the Mongolians decimated their culture, the Islamic people were all for knowledge and the betterment of humanity, whatever race or religion you were they would work alongside you. Then Muhammad came.

They weren't Islamic before Muhammad. They were Arabs, with all sorts of religious beliefs that varied by clan/ tribe. There were Christians and Jews running around in the same area. As you can guess, not for long. Islam was violent from about 15 years tops after it was founded in 626AD. Muslims invented Maths and other things even despite Islam. That would have been around 1200-1400 I believe, it's known as the Islamic Golden age. The Muslim world actually was the cutting edge. Then religious fanaticism increased during/ after the crusades. Give credit where it is due though, Muslims played a giant role in reviving the Western world from an academic standpoint.

Give credit where credit is due? It's easy to have a "golden age" when from the beginning (of Islam) you're warring with everyone around you (in this case classical Roman civilization which was already established in the middle east/north Africa before Mohammad began pillaging, raping, and enslaving), stealing all their valuables, and enslaving their talented people which you then concentrate in one city (e.g., Baghdad). There's nothing "golden" about taking from others to give to yourself. When you concentrate all talented (intellectual) slaves in one place, by force, you can call it a golden age all you want but it's the result of the constant wars.

See this 5min video and this article for a some valuable facts regarding this Islamic "golden age".

You do realize that this is how most civilizations have "golden ages"? They build off of other, sometimes smarter cultures. The Romans did it to the Greeks. They also learned from the Egyptians, Phoenicians, Carthaginians, and even the Guals/Britains/ other barbarians. Classical Rome collapsed before 626AD, it collapsed in the mid 400s. Sure, the Byzantines were there, but the relationship between Byzantines and Muslims was pretty two way. I did acknowledge that Islam had been at war pretty much since it's inception. What you are overlooking is the extent to which Islam, and specifically the Crusades, impacted the Western world. The Muslims had libraries containing works by the Romans, which were not extant in Europe. These texts helped fuel the rebirth of non-feudal culture in the West. Advanced mathematics came out of the Middle East, allowing for better and more ambitious architecture and mechanical design in the West. Arabic numbers came about. Spices and other goods traded through the Middle East and brought home by crusaders created a market which ultimately led to the rise of the middle class. It's not fair to say all the change Islam brought was bad. Islam even brought good changes to the Middle East. Women were allowed to own property. Infanticide was outlawed. Marriages of love were encouraged. Women were initially discouraged from wearing the burqa. A solid legal system was established. Language became an important tool, with Arabic as the lingua Franca.

With due respect to Mr. Abrahm, saying Al-Nusra is more "moderate" or uses more moderate methods (i.e. power-sharing and embedding within the local population), is not the same as saying they're a moderate group.

Jesus saved him, even if it wasn't from your sword. Rest in peace, brother.

You butchers, on the other hand, are likely due for a rude awakening at the end of your days...

Came here to say the same.

The point of this life is not to avoid pain and death, it's to depend on Christ through this extremely temporary pain and death, having faith in the coming kingdom.

Lord bless you for speaking this truth. You've encouraged me today.

If this was /r/Christianity, the top comment would be asking the terrorists to forgive them for their resilient neck tissue.

Jesus was a prophet/messiah, he can't "save" anyone only God can do that.

I don't see Allah or Mohammed saving the lives of the Islamic State militants from our bombs.

[–]hezzospike [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

Well to be fair, I imagine the militants view it the same way as the current top comment here. That if they die fighting, they believe they are rewarded in the afterlife for following the cause.

These are the same moderates our government sends supplies to fight Assad with, right?

the same moderates our government Obama & Hillary sends supplies to fight Assad with, right?

Yes. There is evidence that the reason why the Benghazi attack occurred, and the subsequent cover up, is to destroy evidence that it was used as a front to supply radical Islamists with US hardware
