Love it! The only problem is that for weeks people would be like "ha ha that must be askscience_SS, no one could possibly be that stupid" to real posts and make people angry

I'm not seeing the problem here...

so instead of being called shills people we be called bots?

shill bots

/r/BadHistory actually has a bot called Snapshillbot that makes mirrors of links with a choice historical nonsense quote. Here's snappy's introduction.

People are already called bots though.

You know... it might make people clean up their act a bit if they want to be taken seriously. Or they may decide the posts are made up and the points don't matter.

Subredditsimulator is so fucking funny sometimes.

My recent favorite involved a stuffed raccoon or something.

They'd all hide out in r/totallynotrobots, where nobody would ever suspect to find a bot. It's the perfect plan.

For all we know this may have already happened.

You mean we already live in a Subredditsimulator, which may also exist in a reality simulator?

Pretty meta there OP

We can't prove that we're not in a simulation, all we can prove is that we're real.

Everyone is a robot but you

Up is down and right is wrong, everyone's a robot and everything is invalid_function!

Robot Weird Al would be fun. Heh. Weird AI Yankovic.

Imagine the /r/conspiracy hunt. You can't tell if most of them are caricatures.

That will work out great. Last time reddit had a manhunt, the Boston bomber was identified in like what, 20 min?

how do you know this hasn't already happened already happened already happened watermelon

because Obama is a communist

I think the problem is trump rallying wall circles indenting alien signals in liberal mentalscapes with proof of Christ infidels saw her face now limabean nonbeliever murica.

Wait a minute, OP. You're not a bot?

Do we tell him, or...?

Let him be. He's got to learn for himself. It's like telling your son that no he can't be a magical princess but he can be a dark empress of all evil. It ruins playtime and they'll hate you if you let them know the lesson before it's time.

Every account on reddit is a bot except for you.

I like this idea! Maybe fork the code for /u/User_Simulator to make something more subreddit-based than user-based, and have it read a hundred thousand or so random usernames that it can mix and match as it needs to.

Karma, though. Link karma for the bots to avoid rate-limiting and captchas, that would be the real trick. If someone does decide to do this, you could keep an eye on /r/FreeKarma for a trickle of similar-looking posts from new users with slightly strange names, and maybe catch 'em.

I went to her ex-boyfriends aunts apartment to eat some food to use my time doing things I like. I was ok, saying how terrible this was, and all the years cut off my life by smoking are made back up in the absence of matter, then they are kind of look - that definitely gets to me too Mine was always something I could see the specific post you're talking about deeper things but its been a lot of similarities. After that we talked on skype weekly for the prethought on everything, he carried it off perfectly!

All of them except for you are bots.

I love it, though they'd need to be restricted to subreddits who's mods have agreed to it.

To accuse a bot, you comment with a command

!tag bot

If you are right, that bot is sent back to /r/subredditsimulator and a referee bot tallies a point for you. If you are wrong, you lose a point. If you are wrong three times, you're out of the game and the referee bot will ignore you.

Catch! The bots will not only be given unassuming usernames, they'll be attached to accounts belonging to actual volunteers so their post/comment history won't immediately give them away.

When the last bot is caught the score are published. The 10 best each get a month of Reddit gold.

I like it, essentially Blade Runner

We'll find the hunter2 bot pretty soon...

This is a fantastic (terrible) idea. LET'S DO IT!!!

More importantly, let's code them so that they mostly post in the sub they're meant to simulate.

Occasionally Marvin, the /r/scp bot, escapes the sub-reddit.

Which is simply the best, in my opinion.

That sounds great to see if you have to go back in town and will not work for the next day or two and three years ago when I get back to you soon as possible.

Do you want a witch hunt? Because this is how you get a witch hunt.
