It's patently obvious that Rooney is not up to task as a striker, and definitely not as a midfielder. This is not based off the Iceland game in isolation but United's whole last season and this whole Euros. United will not compete for any serious titles if they continue to facilitate Rooney because he's a marketing favorite. He's finished as a start, but he won't take a bench role.
