Have we seen the last of Mata? (self.reddevils)

Does anyone see Mourinho keeping Mata with Mkhitaryan looking to be as the likely RW for the coming season?

I think most of us really like Mata for who he is, and he's had plenty of decisive moments for us in his service here, despite what some people would suggest. I selfishly want him to stay so he could continue to provide for us as a rotational player, but it's probably in his best interest to leave (maybe to Valencia).

Plus, there may still be some pride issues between him and Jose as well. I'm sure you remember how absolutely frustrated he looked on camera whenever Jose would sub him out or leave him on the bench.

What do you think? Is he a redundancy we can afford to let go? If he goes, for how much, realistically?

Yeah I don't see the point of him riding the bench, he could easily start at some other clubs but he's just not good enough for us and we've waited long enough - he's played more league games for us than for Chelsea and he hasn't done much from the occasional goal/assist. People argue that he's been wrongly used on the right wing but every time he started as a no. 10 he was painfully useless

I think he needs to go. He's a very nice guy and he's scored some big goals but he hasn't been the game changer we needed and he can come in and out of games. Given his history with Mou and the fact that he probably would command a decent fee, I think he'll go.

Can see him at Sevilla. With unai emry leaving there'll be a statement signing by whoever comes in and their style of football suits him

I think he will stay. Just because he doesn't fit in a Mourinho starting 11 doesn't mean he can't make an impact from the bench, specially when closing out games or when there's not much space. He's still 100x the CAM Rooney is.

One of the highest players in the squad to make impact off the bench? Also, what kind of impact, run at defenders? good movement behind the defense? Only keep him to close out games? That isn't good enough.

We're not going to keep such a valuable player on the bench when Mourinho can get a decent fee for him and bring in someone he actually wants.

Using a £37m player as just a sub is asinine when we have needs to be addressed and the selling of such player helps us address those needs.

Just can't agree with any of this, firstly he is no way shape or form an impact sub, and secondly, I can remember few games were he was good at cam, and tonnes of games were Rooney was great at cam

I love Mata off the pitch, but on it he is just very good. Which may sound odd. But just being very good isn't enough for United. The history with Jose doesn't do any bit of good either.
