My vetting of the securities came out as full TNO, so it passes all of the "Trust No One" tests. They have their encrypting things absolutely correctly.
As a software developer, regular nightly backups of my development workstation are essential. CloudBerry Backup made this critical task easy to setup to ensure all my files are backed up to my Azure cloud storage space. And on more than one occasion, CloudBerry Backup has saved the day by allowing me to easily restore a file from backup and choose which version of the file to restore. I would highly recommend CloudBerry Backup to anyone in a similar situation.
A week or so ago, before I had added CloudBerry to the list of products I was evaluating for a client of mine, I was lamenting to my wife that cloud backup products were not yet great and were still way too expensive. But just wait I said, in a couple of years things will have really changed, and we'll be able to do backups easily and cheaply. Well, I guess I should have said "a couple of weeks" instead of "a couple of years", because CloudBerry was the backup solution I had in mind.
First off, I liked the product so much I bought it before the trial was over. I use it to backup a mission critical database file twice a day to both Google and Amazon Cloud storage. I’m also using the real time backup feature with a local disk. I was testing several similar products on Server 2008 and 2012. CloudBerry was the hands down winner.
I would prefer to use Cloudberry for both as it is a better written application and some other backup tools have the very real potential to lose data irrecoverably when trying to restore. I lost 100GB which took a lot of upload time just because the interface of other backup tool is confusing. As far as I can tell Cloudberry has no such risk and it is just a better product.
To efficiently back up your data to S3, one of the best options is CloudBerry Online Backup.
I am happy with the backup so far, I have a ton of data on my Glacier backup being a Graphic Artist (350GB). I was using CrashPlanPro at about $8/mo, so this should reduce me to about half that, so I am excited.
CloudBerry Backup Desktop is definitely designed for businesses. Most individual users just aren’t going to be using the cloud services the software supports. That said, this tool is simple enough to use that individuals at a business or the manager of a particular group can set up and manage it without needing the IT department to do much of anything, but give the OK.
I have purchased the Desktop version of Backup, and it seems to be working very well. I have used compression, and that may have increased the speed dramatically. I am impressed with the product, and appreciate all the help you have given me.
I am using it to encrypt and backup the files from my desktop (~35Gb) to Glacier. So far it seems like an excellent product.
