Silly season has returned for the 4th summer on /r/reddevils!

Most of you know the drill.

For those who don't...From today until the window closes, a transfer round-up & discussion thread will be made every day. In these threads, ANYTHING can be talked about. Any player, in or out, any transfer fee, anything!

Now, with these threads starting, this means that rumours submitted as separate posts will be removed unless they are from reliable sources!

I'd say there's a chance but it's slim. Even if all the recent news is a brief from Raiola himself, you've always got to question his motives. Could be to get Real to cough up. Not ruling it out though. Bailly, Pogba, Ibra and Mhki would be an amazing window.

If we get Ibra and Miki..I wouldn't necessarily rule out Pogba..All 3 of them are represented by Raiola..He would end up getting a larger agent fee from us for getting all 3 of them to united..Also, if we are to speak to Juve on monday, it means there could be a chance that pogba would be keen on joining us as well..Yes, I understand we may be used as a bargaining chip..but hell, it's the transfer window..let's speculate just like the other journo's :P

That's all true and is why we certainly have a shot. But you need to consider that he is coming from the Italian champions to the 5th best team in England at the moment who aren't even in the CL. Even if he does love the club, that's a big hindrance. Hopefully Mou can be our ace in the hole to convince him to come.

We tied for 4th place on points with LvGs archaic system and a thin squad. I think Pogba has to be clever enough to know that if we can achieve that with so little, challenging for the title with one of the best managers in the world and him, Zlatan and Mickey shouldn't be too difficult.

I really want this transfer to happen even though my head tells me it won't.

I personally don't think he'll leave this summer. I'm expecting it to be next summer which I think is better for us as we will most likely be in a stronger position from a footballing perspective. Then there's a real chance he could join us.

Ibra + Mkhitaryan are good additions. Hopefully midfield is reinforced too though.

I don't think we'll have a "marquee" signing in Joses first season though. That'll probably come next year depending on how we progress.

Ibra and Mikhytarian are marquee signings IMO. Mikhytarian got player of the season in the Bundesliga...

Zlatan and Mkhi seem like great signings. At the very least, they're clear upgrades/enhancements in those positions.

Pogba? Don't see it happening but at least we're starting this saga in June and not at the end of the window. Hopefully we can figure out early if there is a chance and, if not, move on to more realistic targets.

A top CM is our number 1 priority in my opinion, so I'm glad we seem to have sorted all our other needs early with plenty of time to focus on this (and replace squad players we sell -- maybe another CB?).

what CMs do you guys think we can/should realistically get? I dont see Pogba happening and I dont think he's worth 120m or whatever the reported fee. I'd be happy with 50pounds or less for him

And Would we prioritize a CM/CDM or CAM?

50m pounds bid invites the likes of Real, City into a bidding war. 120€ blows everyone else out of the water. Statement signing indeed if it goes through.

Decent player, but would at least attempt to get him for 35m. Not sure about the 50m. He didn't play much for RM and therefore wants out, so the price should drop on that alone.
